the slider plates do work, but sometimes when you hockey stop you slip out... tehy also wear out pretty quickly... the only tihg i liked about quikchange was their boot, their chassis were creappy and opened up during play and wheels went flying. this was with the model that you can switch from playerr to goalei tho. i dont know of the quality of their new goalie skate wth the cowling. i dont think you would want to use these on asphalt, kinda pricey for that but thats your desision. i dont think the sliders would work as well on asphalt

I don't like the slider plates on sport court or it's ilk. I found them to cause the skates to slide out unpredictably. Remove them and the chassis is very solid. The goalie skate no longer uses the quick change setup so wheels flying off would not be an issue.

Conversely, I would think that the plates would work better on a rough surface as they would allow for a smoother and more controlled slide.

As a side note, I don't like the wheels that QuickChange uses. The profile is too flat for my tastes.
