Thanks Mont for sharing your wonderful knowledge!!

hmm i don't think the boot strap part is that important..i only have one boot strap and the piece isn't really attached well
but i think if you seal the plastic tight enough..it might just might work

Cool - good going.
I couldn't get mine to work out - I tried a 1.89 L bottle and it didn't bend right for me.
Which type of bottle/container did you end up using?
I've seen threads about people trying out milk jugs or detergent jugs for the thicker material, since N. Amer. bottles are pretty thin.

i ended up using a 2L soda bottle...the 20 oz ones were too small..and i didnt have any detergent or milk ones that i felt like washing...i'd rather stick to the cheap stuff (its like 99cents for a 2L bottle of club soda) don't get soda unless your gonna drink it cus then you hafta clean the bottle. also i don't have a heat gun, so when i use the thinner plastic i can melt it easilier and faster. plus the sport court i play on is super dirty, so i'll just replace them when they get so dirty they don't slide anymore. hope this helps some

That does help - thanks. I guess I must've cut and bent it all wrong.
What did you use instead of a heat gun - blow dryer?
Anyhow, hope they don't crack before getting dirty.
I'll let you know when I finally finish making side plates.

 Sharp objects.
For me, it's time - I just spent 2 hours extra on making my thigh boards, because I didn't cut the material long enough, so I had to stitch some more material on.
I'll tackle the slide plates soon, cuz I sometimes want to play outside on the concrete.

2-Liter bottles didn't work for me. They were too short.

Ok, so the length and neck contour of the 2-liter bottle made it very tough to work with. However, I did find 2-liters bottle of Mexico's national soft drink: Jarritos!! The necks are straighter so those will prolly work. And the best part? I used to drink Jarritos all the time when I was kid living in Mexico! Pad mods and pineapple Jarritos: \m/ \m/

Here's a link
Maybe it's a different bottle. I can't notice the difference, but I can't find a picture of a pepsi or coke 2L bottle.
Jarritos
Don't have the answer to your second question.

I haven't been able to find a pic of the bottle I described. The ones I got are imported from Mexico and are apparently a new design as labeled on the bottle. I'll keep looking for a pic.
