Playing hockey in rollerblades
lol

Umm On sat I played forward in roller blades for the first time, just learning how to rollerblade, Ive been playing roller hockey for about 2 years but never actually in rollerblades lol.

Does anyone have an Idea of how long it takes to adapt to the rollerblades from ice skates while playing net?

I want to try next season on rollerblades but I dont want to screw up my game and really suck because of being on rollerblades. Any suggestions on learing to goalie rollerblade?

Thx
Chris

Practice t-pushes A LOT and get used to stepping across the crease all the time. You just have to get used to thinking a bit differently about movement. You might find you do a bit more "hopping" rather than pushing into a slide like you would in ice hockey. Also, positioning will become a lot more important without being able to slide (if you're short like me). But if you're a decent ice hockey skater, you'll be quick to learn on blades.

And lose the forward skates for something with a flat chassis, if you can.

Dreadlock summed it up fairly well and definitely look at a goalie skate or new chassis, it makes a huge difference. You're gonna be confused for a few minutes, trying to get your feet to do what you think they should be doing. After that it's just trying to adjust to the mindset of roller...minimal defense, lots of odd man rushes and general goalie unfriendly stuff like that.

And keep in mind that you will see more high shots in roller. The puck is lighter and an average shooter in ice can shoot a lot harder in roller.

Are you currently playing on quads? If so I am happy to hear you are switching to in-lines. Quads are a little dated.
