Movement for Roller
How does everyone move w/ the play on foot & when down?On foot I have the outside of my foot that's on the same side as to where the play's going,my other foot parallel to that foot,& try to keep the puck between my gloves(so I'm always square to it),on my knees I "hop",& as a desperation save I dive head 1st.

LOL what's so hard to understand?& oogs when you're down you can still hop a bit so you're not that immobile.

Well on foot I personally do a lot of stepping. Do some sideways ladder drills to help with this. Also do a lot of cross over skating. You won't cross over in games, but it'll help with leg strength in stepping. I'll try to get a video for you soon.
As for on the ground, shuffle. It's easy.. just shuffle shuffle shuffle over. Get some cheap knee pads and practice shuffling around the house. It sounds silly, but it'll build strength.
Good luck, and I hope that helped!

Since I have adopted a butterfly style I find it pretty easy to B-fly shuffle across when I am down.
I am pretty close to a master of the T-glide. Skating is probably the strongest part of my game in fact. Has been since I was a wee lad. I am average size so I always knew that skating and mobility were esestial to being competative.

It did.But I tried side stepping once & was really slow.A few times I even lost my balance LOL.The same happened w/ shuffling.& I have trouble stopping in the T-push.I always do the hockey stop.I can't get stopping. But I'll really work on these to see if they help..

Definitely work on the ladder and shuffling ideas. Also, if you're so inclined, try one legged squats. What I mean by that is: stand up straight, feet together. Put one leg straight out. Now squat down on the one leg. You'll probably fall over for the first, oh, hundred times or so, haha. If you keep falling, start from the one legged squat position and then try to lift yourself up just using the one leg. Again, you'll probably fall over. But it's incredibly, incredibly, incredibly good for leg strength. Just remember to stretch beforehand, because this is very stressful on your muscles.
After doing that for a while, though, your shuffling will get much better, as will your ability to recover from a butterfly or half butterfly save.
Enjoy!

Lunges will also work well to increase leg strength. Simply step as far forward with one leg as you can until your trailing leg's knee is nearly touching the ground and your lead leg is bent at a 90 degree angle. Lift yourself up by pushing down with your leading leg and bringing your trailing leg forward.

Well congratulations..... it has happened to me, i know a goalie who would puposely spray chemicals on a rag and after he played in the crease, he would wipe it down and it would leave a film so the goalie would slip..... idunno if he still does it, but he told too many people and most found out....... yes if you use armorall it leaves hit, but if u leave armorall leatherwipes, no harm is done to the crease as long as you give it ebnought ime to dry properly..... yeah if you put it on a half hour before you play it will get on crease cuz its not dry.... i let it dry for a few hours..... i actually played with out it 2 times this weekend during my tournament because of not enough tiem to dry, and i could tell it wasnt applied, but it didnt make a world of difference...... i am sure i will hear bitching from about 5 members here about it..... go ahead and PM to bitch me out, theres no reason to make another public bitch out at armorall LEATHER WIPES
