A good surface for black hpyer 49mm wheels
I finally found a good surface for those wheels.
Painted concrete was great with these wheels. I had much more grip than I do on sportcourt. I also liked how my pads slide on the surface as well.

Smooth concrete or rough concrete? I'd thing those crap wheels would give you a ripped groin on smooth concrete, haha.

By all means, but why? Have you used the black wheels? I've only heard of one person say they liked them, and that's out of a lot of people. Generally goalies switch to Hyper blue wheels shortly after getting the skates. The black wheels are much too slippery, and like I said, on smooth concrete I can't imagine how much more slippery they would become. Think about it -- already slippery on another slippery surface. If pushing off was bad before, it'll be even worse now, and could result in a ripped groin.
Ignore me if you want -- perhaps that's better for me, too -- but do it for a good reason. I see nothing above that would cause you to do that.

No offence but did you even read my post??
It is painted concrete. It is smooth but painted. The paint provides a lot of grip with these wheels. At least compared to sportcourt.

I've seen rough concrete painted, too. So no offense, but did you read my post? Rough concrete can't be painted? A question's a question.. don't look into it.
I know you said your pads slide better on it, but I can't imagine those wheels doing well on an even more slippery surface. If it does, great. Good luck on your concrete..

I have never played on rough concrete so to be honest I would even imagine them painting it. Do you mean like outside on the street??
The paint provides really good grip. For the players they were complaining about too much grip and almost breaking their ankles trying to stop like they would on sportcourt.
This was the only time I will be playing on that surface. We had a cross-over league champions game at their rink.

Aaaaaah.. okay, that makes sense, now. I didn't know that the paint created a grippy surface. I figured it would keep it slick. I know when I first started I played on concrete for a little bit, and it was painted, and it seemed slippery. Thanks for the clarification.
That stinks that you had to play a cross-league championship game on it. That's a huge change.

It wasn't much of a game. We slaughtered them 12-1 on their own rink.
We were supposed to have a best of 3 with two games that day but after the first they didn't want to play again.
We are now having a home and home so they will be coming to play in our rink this thursday. They had some excuse about why they lost so hopefully they come with their best players and we can have a real game.

my goalie hyper wheels work perfectly on sealed concrete, sport court, ice court, and rough concrete..... i love them, but i would love to try the rinkrat crossbars, but dont fit on my skates....
paint does cause a grip...... i playe dina rink in pittsburgh, looks liek a dome, and its 2 outdoor covered rinks with vinyl sidings dangling from roof, well, it is a sportcourt rink, but the crease has a tape on it, instead of diferent colored tile, and i got way to much grip, it was hard to butterfly and slide my legs out, my butterfly gripped it to.....

I'd imagine that surface would cause a lot of wear to pads tho?

I heard you had a good game. AHAAHA 12-1. That's nuts. Almost as bad as my 17-3 game. I've never played on sportcourt, and i'd love to give it a shot. I'm hoping that PICH will one day get the sportcourt. That said, I've used those wheels i got from FRAM with no problems on the floor at the Richmond Ice Centre. On a side note, I don't like the surface at the RIC. I tore my hamstring in game 2 of a 3 game series. Out for another 3-4 weeks Skate got hung up on the floor as I was stretching out.

Hey Cyrus,
I had a decent game. Not alot of dangerous scoring chances, at least not as many as I'm used to.
I was surprised that Shock and Awe are one of the best teams in PICH. I was expecting them to be a lot better than what they showed.
Hopefully next year provincials happen properly with the top teams from Langley, PICH and the VIHL all playing.
That sucks about your injury. Horrible timing.
