still, they are basically the same threads. Best advice someone will give you: stick to a nutrition plan, stay away from food with high carbs, excercise and you will see the results.

#29: you're THIRTEEN... do you really think you need to lose weight?
I don't think your body build depends on weight alone... you need to know what your body has, and what it should have. like do you have a lot of muscle, and not so much fat, but you weigh more than your friends. maybe it's because you have more muscle than they do?
i weigh a lot more than some of my friends... but i am a lot stronger than they are too. i have bigger bones, more muscle, probably some more fat (not much though) = i weigh more. does it mean i need to lose weight? maybe i could shed some fat, but other than that....

Only comment,...at this age if you think you need to deal with a weight issue, you should ask a doctor how to do it, not us. Your body is still trying to grow, and going on a diet (fad or otherwise) could mess up your metabolism and rob your body of needed nutrients and vitamins.

Umless you are seriously overweight or something you should not be dieting at age 13. You said a few pounds so I am guessing you want to lose like 5-10 pounds.
My brother was a lot heavier than his friends but he shot up in build around the age of 14-16 and has slimmed down a lot. At your age your body could be building up for growth spurts and body changes. To be honest I would not recommend you doing anything without first comsulting a doctor.

Same with mines.. my bro was like.. chubby chubby and then when he hit his growth spurt.. it was like.. whoa. so now he's tall, and fit.. and can still eat like crazy and not gain much weight.
unless your boarderline obese.. i truly don't think it's neccessary at 13... even at 14, 15

Lippppppppposuction. (jk, plastic surgery is not the option, I knew a 13 year old that had it! bad idea)
. Eat salad, and make sure you sweat and excercise a lot. Stay away from junk, and do cardio.

The majority of kids in america are overweight at that age. There is nothing wrong with changing your diet a bit and/or doing more exercise in order to lose weight. In fact it will help his future health a lot more the earlier he does it.

Talk to your doctor...you most likely have to go for a physical before school anyway
It's ok to cut out the candy and sugar, soda and junk, but you probably don't or shouldn't start severly limiting your total intake just yet. Think about what your eating instead...a can of soda has like 150 calories. Drink two cans thats 300 calories. All of a sudden you just drank 10% of your total calorie intake for a day. Pop Tarts also have incredibly high calorie amounts. You could drink water and eat some fruit, be just as full and lose weight.
Simple diet plan....decrease calorie intake and increase calorie burning.
Again, don't start doing Atkins or some other crazy diet without a doctor...at thirteen, you can get hurt. Atkins actually sends your body into a form of shock...its debatable whether its ok for an adult...at your age, you need a balanced diet. And don't take diet pills, people get severly hurt and some die from them. Your doctor has to know what and how much you are taking.
Good Luck
