Humidity Sucks!!!!!!

Any one else who plays at a non climate controled rink might know where I am coming from....

Well it was so humid in my building last night that the floor was sweating. So yeah you can imagine what it was like trying to skate. And the best part was it was only on the ends of rink.......the crease and about 3 feet infront. Needless to say it sucked. Though I was going to leave my groin on the floor from slipping....altough it was fun to watch an unsuspecting forward wander close and fall on his face

Heh, it's kind of coincidental that our entire tournament is running slow because the rinks are now swimming pools I like it, for the most part. It feels like ice.

Judging from your location I'm guessing you mean ECRHA... which is at Sportsplex this weekend? I was at United Sports in Downingtown on Thursday, when I tore my hammy. Freakin' rain and humidity!

Who do you play for by the way?

worst place ive played in.... SGAA (soemthing liek that) in Snellville, GA..... it was a 2hot4ice tournament last year.... i believe they measured the temperature to be 125 degrees on the rink... it is a 2 rink facility with a roof, and fence around it.... i didnt want to go, but half of my team was invited to play with deebs young's team, so we made no thoughs on declining the offer..... thankfully, i was pissed at first, we asked a second goalei since we were playing in 16u and 14u..... one goalie passed out the first day..... was it very humid, i dont remeber.... i always bring a towel on the rink with me to wipe up my sweat, i wear no pants and socks soo all the sweat from my legs go right onto my crease.....

Yessir, we lost the whole damn weekend to humidity. I think we may lose a tourney in Pittsburgh to clouds Sorry to hear about the hammy. That's one of those damn nagging injuries.

USTC is a cool place. So much stuff happening there...

I play for Drexel. We just moved down to DII since 6 or 7 seniors left and I just moved up from B since Eric ****** left. We did get one game in today, but that's it.

Who do you play for?

Hahaha, I like how his name is blanked out because it's the same as a certain company.

Well I'm old now, but I am a former Drexel goalie. Just go ask Bert who the shortest goalie he's ever known is. And then don't listen to anything else he says about me.

Gotta love small worlds eh? Hey Leafer, do you have any games at Marple by chance? I'll definitely come see you play. But yeah, one time the other goalie spilled water on his crease. Switching up, my hamstrings felt it. Little cheater didn't like that they were losing. They had someone clean it up and take her water bottle away. Bad girl.

Zhuuka, yeah, it definitely is a funny little world I unfortunately don't play at Marple anymore (at least not until Summer). We have two teams up there, though.

If I ever do end up back there, I'll drop ya a line. As for now, I'm at Sportsplex in Feasterville for the most part.

Lol, we did get off lucky. It really isn't the ECRHA's fault, though. Sportsplex should've had the necessary a/c to keep the humidity low. In fact, it should've been in place for years now. I remember asking if they were going to do it when I was around 14, and I was told that the next summer they should

They aim to be a premier place to play, but they refuse to get the air conditioning put in place. Seems kinda counterintuitive to me.

Just make sure you all wipe up your crease in Sportsplex... i will be there for a tournament in January again, TORHS WINTER CUP..... i dont want to be slippign and fallign everywhere.....

I wont have to worry about humidy there though then.. i was there in January and FEbruary of this year for tournaments.... that was only the 2nd time i showed up to play, and i first had to scrape out the ice in my chest protector..... it was freezing, but it didnt really actually snow until i was on my plane, and we took off hours late and had to get plane defrausted.... im from south florida so when its ever 70 degrees or below outside, i have on pants and a sweater....

You're right, there will be little humidity by then Although, we did get a nice big snowstorm in the middle of a tournament last year, effectively trapping everyone there I'll make sure to keep the creases I use dry, though, just for you

Whenever I play roller hockey in the winter, I wonder why I don't just go play ice.
