We lost our only winter roller league out here this season due to the only sport-court surface facility operator attempting to charge over two hundred dollars per hour for floor time. He's now renting it to private individuals for less. To be fair, I am still playing winter roller but it's on concrete with teams made up mostly of last years PICH East (oxymoron) players. It's not quite the competition I've been used to.
And Buffay, in most Januarys, I'm not hearing anything about roller up here. And by mid-August, I've been done for half a month. You get about three and a half more months than I do.

Thats because there is only one rolle rhockey organization that is any good (overall), and that is Oakville Coyotes.... i have no idea about locations in Canada, i dont know how far Oakville is from toronto.... canadian platinum teams dont normally succeed very well at nationals, americans usually shine!!

Well, considering there are usually only two or three teams per age group, they usually do very well for themselves. Lasty year Canadian teams had top three finishes in Junior, Mens, Division 1 and Bantam. By that age, most players have made the choice to switch from ice to roller, hence a lack of younger teams. And the D1 that came third team lost their goalie in the last qualitfying game, if memory serves me correct. Oakville is a very well-run organization, my uncle is behind much of what goes on in that league but they're also very aggressive in sending teams to tournaments, especially in the Torhs series. York Inline's in almost as big but tends to stick to their own turf. However, they ran a winter league last year and Oakville's hasn't been able to, due to lack of facility. Greater Toronto Inline doesn't have rep teams but are well-organized and last year they probably had the most competetive mens division in the city, for their "Pro" division. The infrastructure just isn't there in the winter and for younger age groups. Convincing parents to go to Narch and Torhs is much harder when you cross borders. It's the mens leagues that get the most attention and have more flexibility.
BTW, Oakville's 40 mins from my house and I live in the easternmost part of Toronto.

Canada is still primarily Hockey in the winter months.
I played in the York organization two years ago and it is a top notch organization.
NARCh was here in 2000 and it was one of the most successful NARCh Nationals they ever had. That's why it is back here so soon.
I will hopefully be there for D1 and Pro. I know there are some things on the go and what not for a couple of organizations, one in particular through GTI/Toronto Tigers the league I have played for since I was 18.
