Any PIHA'ers?

Anyone playing for a team in the PIHA this season? Either minor or pro.

I know in an earlier post, someone played for PIHA last year or something. But only one person?

I played in PIHA 2 years ago for 2 seasons. Now the season overlaps with ECRHA season, wich is colligiate league.I played in PIHA 2 years ago for 2 seasons. Now the season overlaps with ECRHA season, which is collegiate league.

I hope it will continue to improve, because in the past the league lacked organization to say the least.

I've never really played much rollerhockey in net...mostly skated out as a forward or D to mess around and have fun during the summer. But a friend of mine convinced me to tryout for MLRH about 2 months ago since i'm not playing ice for any teams this year. I'm not a big fan of adjusting to the movements, but the talent and speed are decent enough to keep me interested. But i'm having second thoughts about staying with the team since the owner of the team/GM recently dressed himself as the back-up for a game. Plus he periodically steps in for some shots and drills during practice. Just curious as to what anyone elses opinion is on this matter...i'd appreciate any input. I'd probably be more discouraged if ice hockey wasn't my true passion...

I have played for York's minor league team for a couple seasons. I am not playing this season though. I tried out for another team and did not make it. I have found a lot of roller teams are to political for my liking. I would be worried to if the GM was jumping in for some games also.

PIHA was a lot of fun. I actually did not mind the traveling around. Like I said I do not want to have to kiss butt to get ahead and unfortunately the guys that do that get what they want

I'm probably going to try out for the minor league team around here (I think it's the Ice Dogs [they're under the Philly Growl]). I know a guy who played on there and he didn't laugh too hard when I said I'd give it a go The one goalie from another school in my league plays or played for the Growl last season and had some significant time, which is encouraging for me

I started most of the season last year for the York Typhoon and somehow managed to pull down league MVG honors (which I think were due more to the team in front of me than any performance of my own).

I'll be playing again this year, and the league looks a lot more organized than last year. On top of expansion to a second region, they have TV and radio contracts (admittedly small, but it's a start), a deal with Ace Jerseys for all the uniforms and just announced a deal with HockeyGiant for players of the month, etc. From a PR standpoint they've made major strides.

As for the politics, most teams in any competitive sport have them on some level, and it's as bad if not worse in ice hockey. I remember baseball being terrible back when I was heavily into travel, too.

Cool, I am on the Richmond Rollin' Robins (minor team) for this coming season. We are one of the, i beleive 3 new teams for this season (not including the whole new rocky mts div.) Ive followed piha for a lil and i can also attend to the point that it def. looks more organized and getting better. I'd also say its a lot better off than the MLRH (used to play goal for a few DC Mad dogs in an "open" adult league). Hopefully ill see some of you all around!
