Post leg sliders on leg pads legal or illegal in PIHA ?

Taken from the PIHA 2007 rulebook:

Rule 16 - Goalkeepers equipment

(a) With the exception of skates and sticks, all the equipment worn by the goalkeeper musy be constructed solely for the protection of the head and body, and must not include any garment or contrivance which would give the goalkeeper undue assistance in goalkeeping.

(c)(2) The use of solvents, oils, or waxes on a goaltender's leg pads to enhance sliding capability is prohibited.

No obviously part (c)(2) does not apply to plastic leg sliders attached to your leg pads, but does part (a) kind of suggest that with the "contivance" part ?

Any replies to this is appreciated.

If the manufacturers read all these posts, maybe they would get smart and actually create products with these features. Then no one would be violating any rules. They could just buy the better equipment like anyone else. Or maybe one of you creative goalies could patent your idea and make a fortune selling it to us!

Battram does make slide plates for the inline pads they sell. Mission toyed with the idea for a while when they hd the inner triangle plates on the pad.

It is done now but more should get on the same page.....

The difficulty is that the inline community is a small subset of the total number of pads sold, and the time required to engineer and install a solution that actually lasts
(Battram's slide plates are great in this regard, the original Mission thermoweld stuff came off very quickly) probably isn't worth the R&D cost for most pad manufacturers.

Those of you that installed these, how did you bend the plastic?

Nevermind, I decided to actually read the previous posts and know to use a heat gun to mold the plastic.

In my experience, industrial heavy-duty velcro will outperform the double-sided tape.

I had bad experiences with both industrial strength velcro and tape on my RBK 6K's. I eventually went to a lacing system and have had no problems yet.

You can get this material on the knee stack, its a black, sparkly and shiny material.
Not sure what it's called, but It encases the knee stack as a whole, so its not on the outside of the pad
