Anyone wear slide plates?

Just curious if any of you guys have slide plates on your pads, and how they feel/work.

I have Battrams with them. It's better than nylon and as close to an ice feel as you're going to get on tile.

VAgoalie...there's a rather lengthy thread at the following link about the slide plates. For what it's worth, I still use them. If you have any questions, just PM me.

I have the Battram Deceptor inline pads with the plates on them. I came from pads that were full ballistic nylon which slide great. I found that the plates are even better.

Only issue I have with them is that they dont match the color of the nylon.......lol

Feel free to ask any specific questions.........

Here is a pic: (If you want a closer one ask and I will get some)

Thanks for the good pic of the plates.

Im currently using CCM Blockades and got the flat faced pads b/c I figured they would slide better on the sport court. They slide decently, but nothing great. That is why I am looking at other options right now.

So are the slide plates only useful when you are in the butterfly position? I play mainly butterfly but sometimes on breakaways when you need to slide the most you need a little bit of slide off the face of the pads.

There are mainly useful when in the butterfly. The face of your pad is most likely leather so that will greatly reduce your sliding. The face of my pad is leather (robo weave) so the slide on that is very limited. However I use that friction to push when gong side to side.

Soul, is that a current pic or when they were new?

Do you a current pic if that one is not?

I am wondering how they hold up.

Any idea what kind of plastic was used and about how thick are the plates?

So I take it those pads rotate very well for you, and you are able to get them perpendicular to the floor very easily?

Make your own damn slide plates

I'll get to use em tomorrow, but I'm scooting around on my linoleum floor about five times as much as I ever did, and the calf wing and knee contact area isn't even covered yet.
