Which side of the Velcro?

I am going to use my Itech 7.8's for roller hockey tonight and I'm going to need some better slide action. I searched Velcro to find one post say to use the Male which is the harder side, and then one post say Female, the softer one. If someone could give me an exact answer as to which end to use that would be great.

Here is a link to show which velcro is male and which is female. I thought female would be better cause its more like fabric, but then the male side is stiffer and seems more slick. I just don't know, lol. Anyone who has velcro on the pads or knows, could you tell me if I should use the Fuzzy (Female) or Rough (Male).

Thank You

And you found it necessary to quote his entire post to say that?

I've seen both sides used but I would think that the male side would be preferable.

I've used female side and it worked very well. I've never used male so I cannot offer a comparison.

One thing about female is if you are using the pads for both floor and ice, the female has the opposite effect on ice. I am thinking of putting one strip on my knee wings simply becaue my down pushes are non exitant but my shimmying on my knees is very good, and would be better with a bit more traction. (I know...this is the opposite of what most would do)

Male side all the way!!! It is far more slick than the female side which can actually grip the floor when weight is applied depending on the surface. The male side will slide extremely well time after time without a problem. I have been using this trick for over 6 years without any problem.

I don't use the method, but it's supposed to be the male side.

Forgot to thank everyone for their posts. I went with the male side like many suggested. The pads were sliding like a champ. Didn't help me though cause I was playing guys older and better, lol. I was going to get ripped no matter what and they definetly lit me up.

When people say that the pads "slide", does that mean they slide as if you were on ice, or just to a certain extent? Does it slide more than having cordura or nylon on the side of the pads?

It'll never be ice, but it's better than cordura/nylon IMO.

I personally use slide plates, but I used velcro with a set of Brian's Alites about 5 years back.
