The stuff is really, really bottom of the line. Think Tour GTLs with a little more protection.

The Heaton Helite Z senior ice gear is very nice and incredibly well priced. For example, the pads are $250, and VERY similar to the pro model, stitching and other small things are the difference between the two. I'd highly recomend looking at the Z's over the roller line.

It all depends what level you play...I've used Tour GTL's (Pads, Glove, Blocker) in an in house A leaguewith no problem. They have good butterfly closer and the glove and blocker are fine as well, they don't show much wear either. You don't need to ask much of roller equipment since you don't need as much protection as ice, pretty much that they are just light. The Heatons might be perfect for your needs.

yeah, you're right about that. I have a set of Heaton Helite R leg pads, and I played D1 ECRHA Roller Hockey. they provide good protection for that level of inline play. I did however have some added knee and medial rolls sewn in by a professional tailor to help my butterfly. She also replaced my plastic side-release buckles on the upper two nylon straps with metal ones, and they've done a good job.
I don't have the gloves, so I can't comment on them from personal use, but to me the Heaton roller gear seems to be manufactored a little better than the Tour GTL's. They butterfly well - they seal the 5-hole very effectively, they flex well, and maintain an S curve for those who like to butterfly, they've got an effective toe cap - which may be really important for inline goalies who don't have goalie skates, they can use either a toe bridge/tie system (which they come with) or a toe buckle system. they have laced in thigh boards, and other than the rounded outside rolls they are a surprisingly flat pad.
I have to add though, that for the price (and based on the fact that I'm starting to play ice now), I did pick up the Heaton Helite Z 2005 with the matching gloves from goaliemonkey.com, and they are SOLID. (although, i haven't seem them anywhere other than goaliemonkey.com, and they seem to be sold out of them)
anyone with a link to a site that sells them might be helping out a lot, but i would still recommend the Heaton Helite R's for anyone who is looking for a set of pads strictly for inline use. (and mine are the blue/black/white color combo and are just taking up room in my closet if anyone is interested)

Aussie_Goalie,
I sent you a PM about pics of my pads: Give me your email address and I'll send them your way.
Also,
you may want to try to contact this company and see if they've got anything you're interested in: http://www.sk8.co.nz/index.aspx
I know that Aussies and Kiwis don't like to get confused for one another, but I thought that this might be a little closer to home for you, since you're running into problems with shipping costs.
