For those looking for goalie skates...
http://cgi.ebay.com/BAUER-REACTOR-IN...QQcmdZViewItem
I wish I could find these in a size 11. Just have to make do with my player skates for now...
Maybe the Supremes will go down if they intorduce a Vapor Inline Goal SKate.

As a recent new Bauer Reactor skate wearer, I can say they aren't all that they are cracked up to be. Honestly, my player skates with smaller wheels were just as good if not better to play in.
The only complaint with my player skates was that the frames were bending too easily.

I've had the skates for a couple years now, and I havn't gotten a dent in them yet (wish I could say the same for my NXI Cage, to give you a gage of what kind of shots I face sometimes). I had labeda 5 wheel frames before the tuuks and they bent in about 3 different places over the 4 years I used them.
As for a difference in boot, I notice a huge difference because I can move my ankle more freely so I have more control getting up and moving side to side. I would defenatly recamend picking up goalie skates to those who haven't. That's without mentioning the added protection of the cowlings.
If I had one complaint, it would be the weight, they're pretty danm heavy.

When I play goal in roller, I just use some regular skates. They're not even player skates.

I use player skates as well because there never on ebay in my size and retail is to rich. My player skates chassis are bent from being in the butterfly so much, but it actually makes it more comfortable to be in the butterfly and doesn't constrict the wheel roll either because the wheels are only 47mm and the bend in the chassis is closer to the boot.

I've played for years with just regular skates and they worked fine. I just changed to a goalie skate so I'll have to see how it goes. I could never find an inline goalie skate in my size (other than brand new $250) so I just bought ice goalie skates (bauer 3000) and cut the blade off and had a chassis put on. The hardest part right now though is finding a flat straight chassis because everyone seems to be out of the large chassis which you need for a bigger skate. I lucked out and got an old labeda chassis from another player. Total price for my skates is $80.00.

For the ice skate you need a hack saw to hack the blade off. Its alot of work. Or a friend with a workshop who'll do it for you. Drill new holes in the boot for the frame and use nuts and bolts. I then super glue the end of the bolt. I, along with loads of other people have been doing this for years. i have had the same alluminium frames for 12 years.
You get a better quality skate for a better price.

You take good ice skates and chop off the runner from the cowling. Then you take a roller chasis and bolt it onto your cowling. Use some crazy glue to help keep the bolts in. Then put the cowlings back on the skates, and you'll never need to spend $300 on 1000s again.

seriously, bolts hold better than rivets, the glue stops the bolts loosening, yeah it sucks ruining a good pair of ice goal skates, but i would rather do that then wear a pair of 1000's for 3 months and have to get a new pair cause all the support goes.
If you dont want to ruin new skates, do it to your old skates!!!!!!!

I wore Tour 950s for a long time before I bought a pair of used R1000s.
I found that my added movement in my foot with the goal skates makes it harder for me. Because footwork is so much more important in roller, the added ankle support with the player skates helped me. Also, in the butterfly, does the lower profile help or hinder me?
Again, this is just my observation.
For the money, I'd rather buy a few pairs of discounted player skates than one big purchase of a pair of new R1000s.

i couldnt stop laughing when reading when i read the few posts above dont buy the 1000s..... thats the ONLY, ONLY ONLY roller goalie skate. I have had the 5000supremes when those were out years ago and that last 1 season, my 1000s have lasted 3 seasons...... if you take a ice skate and "chop" it, it is heavier than the bauers, unless you remove parts of the cowling (which i did)

I've heard somewhere you can buy the roller cowlings from bauer, (without ice blade). I have used the rhg1000's for over a season now and would recommend getting different chassis. I now have suregrip 5 wheel which I got second hand. I find the bigger wheels give me better movement.
