Back pain?????

My older son practices stickhandling and skating on his rollerblades for no more than 15 minutes each day. He begins to complain of back pain about 5 minutes into the practice. The pain is in the mid back (not lower or upper). Anyone have any idea why? My only guess is that he is bending over too far while stickhandling. I am going to have him try a longer stick.

That happens to me every once and while, and seeing as im still in my teens I shouldnt be having back pains. Although I never thought it to be from stickhandling. I thought it was just a strained muscle. Im guessing your son might not be stretching enough before he starts playing, have him stretch his back out very good before he starts playing and see if he still has the pain.

I think he needs to begin strengthening his back with excercises. Just my opinion.

still confused

The funny thing is he never has any pain when he skates on ice. The back pain comes after only a few minutes of being on rollerblades (he is using low quality rollerblades though). He is doing some strength and flexibility training. I will make sure he stretches before he skates to see if that helps.
