What kind of pads do you wear?
Not equipment, but just the pads. I use Paul Thomson Inline Pro. There not as wide as my Vaughn legacy 4000 ice pads, maybe 2 or 3 inches narrower. I bought them used for like 150 bucks, and while I replaced a few straps, they've held up extremely well. Other than being a bit dirty, theres not rips or tears anywhere on them. They slide really well on a sport court, but im sort of thinking about getting different ones. I checked out the new Glenn Miller Ice Breakers. They look really nice, but before buying them I would like to personally check them out in person first.
What do you guys use?
Ive played against and with guys who use regular Ice pads, of course lower level pads, like Bauer reactor 3 series or whatever. I tried using my vaughn legacys, but I couldnt slide at all. Ive always wondered how the other guys got used to using leather pads.

On sport court and similiar surfaces I use specially constructed VK2's. They use cordura in the 5 holes to help with sliding but otherwise are standard pads.
Glenn will be building my next set of outdoor roller pads. He builds solid gear that will provide you with plenty of life. Right now I use his C/A at all times.

well i used to use an old pair of Vaughn's i can't remember what model though. They were all black and they slid really well on the inline surfaces and i picked them up for only about $800 (aud) second hand.

I'm using Bauer R5's. Really nice pad for all surfaces. But I don't play on asphalt.

Joe, I use the same pads as you (S******). Why are you looking at new pads?

I use Vaughn Velocities, Blk/Slv/Wht 34"+1" thigh rise.
Many here on the BB know that I was a Paul Thomson man (ML300 for ice/Inline Pro for roller) for a long time, and I probably still would be if my right knee wasn't so messed up from 10 years in the Marine Corps.

Rick,
I just want some new ones; you know how it is, although cost is always an issue.
Don’t get me wrong I love the pads, and if I ever get new ones they will probably be S*mmons.

I use L'Ville TPS 300's - I've swapped the quickclips for leather straps, and added knee locks and (home made) thigh boards. At 32" they are a little short but they weigh next to nothing. Big rebounds though (which works to my advantage most times). I play only on sport court.

As of now, I use ******* Excals, white/red/black, 34". They're REALLY good pads, even for roller. Minimal wear (I use them a decent amount of time, about 3-5 times a week). I ordered a full set of Velo gear because I liked the weight, design, and knee lifts, plus you can't usually beat Vaughn quality (NOT to say ******* stuff is shoddy, it's held up fine for me). I've also got Eagle pad covers on the way, so I'll see how they affect my pads' performance.
