I was wondering if anyone has made a Sportmask-esque chin sling on their own?

I've switched back to an SK2000 this offseason and I have a Hasek-esque cage and the huge chin cup is annoying me presently.

Option A is to hope that my father-in-law finds his Dremel tool in the next year or so and just carving out some of the chin cup foam.

But, I'm thinking about maybe trying to make a chin sling for it...............

Thanks

Thanks

The Maltese one looks like a decent template for doing something of my own.

How do I go about removing the built-in collar on a Vaughn 5500 c/a? I'm going to be doing this ASAP, anyway, so I figure I may as well ask here first

Also, has anyone removed padding from the heel of a skate before? The spurs on my heels hurt ever so badly, but the ankle support is ever so nice. I essentially need to scrape out a good amount of foam or find a way to get my foot in there tight with no worries about blisters and bleeding. I can't get surgery on the spurs yet, since our season just started, so it's more about changing my equipment.

Thanks, and I can provide pictures of the stuff I'm looking at changing.

If the Vaughn is anything like my Brown, the collar is simply stitched into the neck area and isn't connected to anything vital. What this means is that you should be able to cut the stitching holding the collar without compromising the rest of the unit.

ok I did a mod to my c/a and I think this would be the best place to put it

ok heres what happened last friday I got hit and the stomach and it hurt alot more than it should so the next day I take a look and some stitching is undone on the belly pad and that pissed me off so that night when I was talking to my girlfreind I said something about something (we're the most random people on earth) and so I said something about the problem but then I say Im not the greatest sewer cause I hate the home ec teachers at my school so now I cant sew. So I got an Idea

so what my Idea was was to punch holes in the nylon below the binding and above the foam and then take a lace and thread it through, so in my spare time after practice between the couple hours I was with my girlfreind and practice was over which I think was an hour? but any way I did it that way and it turned out alot better than previously expected

here are the pics:

That's actually a very good way of attaching added padding. You can always take it off later of add to it if needed that way. Good thinking there!

I sifted through this thread and maybe I missed something. Has anyone made their own knee pads like say the Maltese sleve or something. I don't need a hard plastic kneepad like what you cna buy. I want something softer and small enough to fit into my knee lock just to prevent bare knee/ice contact if my knee slips out of my landing gear.

Anyone make something like that or know how?I'd like to give this a go.
