2 ways to do it... both will include the step of Cuting the arms off at shoulder... sew the hole shut...

1. Sew the arm back on after triming it down to the desired length.

2. insert eyelets into the shoulder and the cut off arm and use a skate lace to put them back on. (more adjustable in the future.

you would either have to have them restitched at the shoulder -which i would have done by someone who knows how to sew(i did this to my Brown myself ) or have the wrists of the c/a opened up- trim back some plastic and padding and then restitch them back together, along with the velcro strap etc. Neither job is fun nor really easy to do if your not confident in your sewing.

buffy

if the arms are too long, dont cut them.

all you do is decide how much length you need to lose, say 2". then up near the shoulder, fold the material on itself, about an 1" this is double so give you 2" gone, now take a needle and thread and sew through both pieces, this will tack it into place and means if you sell it on its still in original form

jake

ps hope that makes sense.

Buy a sewing awl and thread (138 bonded nylon www.threadexchange.com ) and stitch the binding back together. It's not hard or impossible to repair that. It looks like the thread gave out somewhere on the seam and tore. If there is binding on both pices, than just start where the stitch begins and re-sew the binding back together.

6 months ... maybe. this is the first set of pads that i have owned which have ripped like this.

i know a guy that owns a shoe repair shop, he is going to "take care of them."

i'll have them back in a day or two.

More Knee Stacks...

I finally got around to making knee stacks and adding thighboards to my old Vaughns. I've played with them once and everything seems to work well. It will take some time to get used to the extra padding. The thighboards went on fine and only required a little stitch on the ends to keep them square. By far the hardest part was sewing the eylets into the pad.

Wow those real good looking thigh boards, kind of remind me of the Rbk ones, but nicer.
