I've used a sewing awl plenty of times before. The problem is this time, I can't see the back of where I'm stitching (if that makes any sense). The way I've used the awl before (as per the instructions) is to push the awl through one end and on the other end, pass the thread through the loop to hold the material. Tips/pics? Thanks.

lol
you dont have to sew all the way through the material. Just go in a little then move the needle back out the same side of the material. Use it just like you would do with a regular needle. You are just making a lock stitch
You are just sewing a patch

Thanks for the tips.
BTW, I just read the thread on the other BB. I never realized you were in Boston. Great place (especially for us college kids....errr former college kids ). Have fun in St. Paul, I've heard it's a great city as well.

LOL Do a search! Just kidding. There are a couple of threads covering this particular subject. search for "shorter arms" or something like that. Dont cut anything unless you absolutely have to. There are other options that will save your resale value.

I'm 5'10 and I went with the medium p1. The bad part is that my stomach is exposed.

oh snap , so i should stick with my Large, and just try and hem the bicep a inch or so , so that when i do need the bigger arms, i can just undo my bicep if i string it up , or so it up.in that picture its hanging down to low ( around my neck) so ive gotta fix that i think

I had the same problem that you're having right now. This is what I did with my c/a:

I just attached the c/a's backpad to my pants. Now it doesn't hang so low anymore. I also had to shorten the arms of my c/a. It was pretty easy. I just folded the excess material under the shoulder caps and sewed it together (you can see the mod in the pic).

i tuck my c/a in though, so that clip at the back , will it affect it?
thanks for the info.
Can you show me some pictures of how you folded and sewed the arms. I was gonna do this, but i dont know what to sew them with ? fishing line? . not regular thread its to weak
I like the large c/a it blocks more, and covers more, and i can still move well.
What can i use for a clip on the back ? , would a fight strap or w.e they're called work ? . like js. gigeure uses.

Bellness, if the c/a is too big for you, don't tuck it. My c/a is size large and I'm 5'4" (don't ask ). You'll get the same effect when you strap the c/a thight and attach it to your pants from stomach and back. I also have suspenders under the c/a.

Anything will work. I think that the clip is easiest to use.

I can't take pictures because I won't be home for a week. Fishing line is ok I think. I used the thread that came with my Speedy Stitcher.

Any downside to thinning a palm on P1 catcher?
Compaired to any Vaughn glove I own, the P1 feels 2x as thick and hard as heck. I can't catch a puck with this thing.
I plan to open it and look for the obvious pad that is the problem. I think there is a piece of plastic in there too.. anyone pull that out?
I have like 8 catch gloves now, so what the heck?

I used to have a p1, and I would feel everything that would hit me in the palm. I got crazy stingers with the regular padding.
