Faint,
The gel alone can not be certified, however, a mask with the gel in it can be, provided that exact set up was used in the certification process. I know that Phil does have a mask/gel set up that is HECC certified.

ugly ugly pads, but the point is to show off my bfly haha.
Note that i usually dont butterfly like that unless its a screen or i am reaching for a puck, because when i bfly like this its not completely sealed to the ice.
When i get my RBK's, ill do some action pics

my older pads were nice, they were the colours of the blocker. but i hates the old catcher, and the pads were way too small. so yeah i tried to go more extreme, but it turned out bad i thought. i think ill like my new rbks better.
