Dukes "Clearance" Gloves

I was just surfing the site and I came across their "Clearance" Vaughn Gloves all listed at 625 bucks a set!

I'm looking for a new set of gloves (My 1st Gen Vapors have seen better days...) and I was originally planing on ordering a new set of gloves... but that deal is insane!

Is there something I need to know about these things? Is there some horrible defect they didn't mention ?

I have never seen anything wrong with their clearance stuff, I almost bought a Brown 2000 catcher for mway less that it retailed for, but I missed it by a day or 2.

Sometimes I'm sure they need to clear it out, to make room for the new gear.

I believe that is high also. Especially for a clearance section. I was interested in a couple sets but that price is high for me.

Maybe they are custom graphic or something,

I'm going to order a set of gloves from Brian Heaton, and they will only cost (210+295) and it's just about $500 plus tx. (CDN)

Your basically getting just over 300 bucks per glove.

At my local sports shop an RBK Blocker is 330 and a Glove is over 400!

I mean, for top quality Vaugh gear, thats a great price!

Yeah, ignore the Americans, because 625 USD for a set does not sound like a good deal. But that price in CDN is a great deal. The best you'll likely do retail on a new set of gloves that aren't being cleared out is about 300 for a blocker and around 450 for a trapper. THat is unless you go to some retailers (it rhymes with "The Boalie Clop" and it's in Calgary) where blockers are routinely priced near $400, and trappers are often near $600. It's ridiculous, particularly if you have any idea what the cost on these things is. I say snap up the deal!

Standard retail on gloves here {ex. RBK Gloves} is CDN $700 + 15% taxes = $805.00....

IMO, do not skimp on a 100 bucks and buy something cheaper just to save a hundred bucks... buy what fits and works well, pay the extra $$$ if you have to and never look back...

I emailed them about a blocker a few months back and asked about buying JUST the blocker, the cost wasnt any near typical "clearance" prices, it was like $!0 less than new.
