Within the continental US, not long at all. I want to say it took 2-3 days to get my pads in Southern California.

I'm in Montreal and it takes 4 days if the box is not opened at the customs. 1-2 days more if they open it.
You're in Ohio so I'd say 2-3 days.

Saw the pads that go with these. They are sitting in his office all lonely. They are the only set of 5000s with the 4000 adjustable rise. Another rumor that Pete cleared up is that there is NOT and adjustable thighrise stiifner system. As mentioned before, he was considering it, but TPS beat him to the punch. It is not ruled out as being a possible future option/mod/feature.
One last thing, he had a set of BLACK / RED / SILVER pads that have been cut and sewn, but not assembled and stuffed. I don't recall if the red and silver were weave or not. The blocker was being made as me and my son watched.

I have a set on order with those colours! No weave and no clarino in the leg channel.

LOL... you are supposed to say, "I tried on your pads in Pete's shop.. hope you don't mind!" :P I had a blast when I visited Pete's shop... It was sweet to see all of his machines and materials.

I have about 1-1.5" of slack, and then I knot it.
Great toe tie resource:

My sliding toe has zero knots behind it.. just one start of a knot.. like you are tying your shoe... but before the bows. Anywho, mine is as tight as I can make it.
Want a picture? I could probably put on a skate and lace up a pad to show you if you want... Obviously I don't have my pads at work, so it would have to wait until tonight.

Would this be followed by subsequent pics of your pads again in every possible angle

However, It DOES NOT apply to the sliding toe bridge. The reason why Pete invented the sliding bridge was to avoid using knots in the first place.
I have found that if I use knots with the sliding bridge I get serious over-rotation and miss the landing gear. If you read through some of the comments on Smith pads you will find a number of people complaining about either over or under rotation. It's not a flaw with the pad it's more a problem with people not using the bridge as it was intended.
(that includes me, at first until Pete straightened me out)
Pete does not recommend using knots with the sliding toe bridge.
Thus endeth the sermon on toe bridges....

Does anyone have action pics in their smiths.
Particularly the sp1000 and 5000 line ups. I have yet to see someone on the ice with either.

On the ice? This gear is too nice to hit with pucks. We just keep it as a display piece until it gets worn out from too much polishing and then order another set.
