Pictures of my new gear that is shipping today. I had Pete use nylon in the leg channel of the pads because it was one of the features of my Vapors that I liked. Pete has been a real pleasure to deal with.

Hey nice set buddy.

The black on black logos look very good. Kinda holographic.

Wow, they look even better assembled.

Those are indeed the ones I saw when I was in his shop. It was cool seeing pads pre-assembly to see a little bit more of how they are put together.

That is sweet, i was toying with that idea for next set as well, an outlined or shadow logo. Something like this:

I was thinking of doing this with a set of TPS or Sherwood custom sticks as well...

My equipment made it to me safe and sound this week. I normally play three times a week and of course I only have one skate for next week!

They came exactly as I ordered. The pads weigh 5.3 lbs, catcher is 2.05 lbs, and the blocker is 1.65 lbs. 14.3 lbs in total for all three pieces.

This is the back channel of the pads that I had Pete make with nylon.

I can't see what part is different than what a normal Smith pad would have. Is it the gray center leg channel piece (the part your leg actually touches), which is usually made out of some kind of suede-like material? I can't tell what that is made of in the pic.

That is it. It is usually clarino.

Nope not clarino, it's usually a very soft suede-feeling material. I can see how going with nylon could help rotation a little though.

I have the same modification. I didn't like the nash leg channel on my pads prior to my SP2000s. I personally feel like it helps with the rotation, but I asked for the change mostly because of the feel on my legs. I'm so picky it's insane, good thing Pete is patient.

Great looking pads by the way... this thread is really tempting me to invest in a pair of 5000s.
