Just got back from the USA Labatt Blue Adult Classic in Lansing, Michigan. My team won our division. Went 4-0, had 1 shutout... 5 goals against total and the last game went to a shootout! Final was 3-2.
Should have pics up tomorrow... not enough time to edit/upload after my 6 hour drive home, plus a sunday league game back home....
Oh yeah, brought home the MVP trophy too.
Saw Billy Sauer play on Friday night in Lansing too, unfortunately he lost, but he had no help! He got revenge on Saturday at Joe Louis with a 5-2 win over MI state.
Superman and his mom came to the tournament (he's the owner of the black 5000's with the new graphic that is up on the smith home page)... anyways, his mom shot a TON of pictures at the tournament. I should have a gallery up later today/tonight... but here is one pic.

Are those the 1000s or the 5000s with the 1000 graphic or something else?

All of Smith's gloves are the same, the only difference is that the 5000s are NHL legal by default, although you can get any of the graphics on NHL legal-sized gloves. So if they have 1000 graphics (which these do), they are 1000s.

Barren,
I checked out those pictures and noticed you guys were shooting on either a "sixth player" or a goalie from the 80's with no chest protector. That is one brave guy to be in there with a players helmet and that throwback gear! I bet thats a two piece chest protector he was wearing! Did you feel bad at all knowing that your sliding toe bridges may be worth more than his gear??
PS Congrats on the win too....was there at least free Labatts?

LOL... well, we played 4 games, so we played against a bunch of different goalies, but my friends called that guy a "leprachaun".. he was like 5 foot nadda.. he sure did have old gear! The only thing I felt bad about was one of the teams was WAY below the calibur of the rest of the teams in our division and we rolled them 8-1. Then the goalie on the labatts team was 6'6"... one of the only keepers that can actually make me look small! He played 2 really good games against us... we faced them in game 3 and then the championship. Got the shutout against him in game 3... was a 2-0 decision but he faced a TON of shots. Game 4 was a lot more even, going 2-2 at the end of regulation and no score in the OT... went to a shootout... I stopped 2/3, other keeper didn't do so well, allowing the first 2 to go in.. didn't need a 3rd shooter.
As for free labatt's.. Oh yeah, there were 2 cans allotted per player, per game.
Did I mention the bling?
P.S. Did I mention my pads are 3 years old? I love them!! I also got to check out superman's sp5000's with the new graphics. Amazing pads and gloves!
