Only 2 cans? I used to play in that tourney when they held it in East Lansing at IceSports/Suburban Ice and they had kegs in the locker rooms! Your pics made me a bit nostalgic for the Capital Centre....I used to live in Lansing. Congrats on the championship.

A friend of ours always had Brians custom gear in all black with black logos. He always had a hard time getting them made that way.

When I ordered my son's all black Smith 3000 pads and 5000 catcher, I asked Pete about getting black logos, and told him if he had a problem with it we'd get white. He had no problem with it, and the all black looks great. We get a lot of comments on them, and the fact there are no visible logos actually generates a lot of inquiries. Of course if the light hits just right, the Smith name an logo becomes visible as a shadow or something. A pretty cool effect actually.

BTW, I have my photos uploaded to Flikr, but can never make then appear in a post on the BB, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? The image i wanted to post here is at:

(No, this is not his stance!! Not sure what he doing here.)

I'm not usually a fan of the baby blue color on gear but the way it works on those gloves and the new 5000 graphic, it's really hot.

Yeah, 2 cans was pretty weak...but the tourney was a blast! First time my team did that one, we used to do the chicago adult classic, but there wasn't one this year, so we drove a bit farther.

wait, did you mean my pads?

i would love to take ownership for those, but i have to admit that they're not really mine.

but i do have smith, 5000s
got them last october and they've now been through one season, i'd say they're the best pads i've owned.
36+1 with adjustable thighrise and name on pads.

What's Pete charge ballpark for custom graphics? I'm teetering on the edge of an order and I like the 08 stock 5000 design but the idea of a custom graphic is intriguing.

It will vary depending on the complexity of the graphic. Just give him a call and have a drawing ready to fax him so he know what you are looking for.

What's funny is that the colour-on-colour 'stealth' logos generate a heck of a lot more interest in the brand/make of the pads than big, obvious branding.

I was watching a UCC practice the other day, and their goalie has navy-on-blue logos; the two goalies warming up to go on after were both trying to figure out what they were.

Nics gloves DAN!!! They feel even better than they look. I am thinking of getting a set before Smith raises his prices like everybody else.

I really like how the back totally opens up for ventilation. Even the Vaughn "Blackburn" set I have don't open up that wide.

Good luck this weekend.
