Smith Adjustable Thigh Rise?

so Im guessing you originally sold these pads to hc3 ? ...... I cant see getting any bigger of a thigh rise on a 33" pad honestly. These pads are 33+2.... I just feel like I would be cheating adding more of a thigh rise if you know what I meen.

I ordered these on April 15th. It's the 5000 set, the only modification being the adjustable thigh-rise.

I'm trying to be patient, but it gets harder everyday

i feel your pain, i ordered a blocker from my local store with just custom colors on march 12th and still not here im in the process of ordering leg pads from smith also though, wondered if anyone has gotten an open leg channel on Smith before because i like my leg channel pretty open, not necessarily gutted but....anyways anyone gotten this or know if they will do this???

I believe there are Pics of Smiths with an open leg channel a few pages back. However the new 5000 don't have the adjustable calf wedges on each side giving you a more open channel feel.

I just ordered a pair of 5000 pads from Pete as well and can't wait to get them. I went with the 2000 graphic, mostly black with white swipes and silver accent. Only mod is adjustable thighrise.

You can order your pads anyway you want them, it's custom. Stiff, soft, medium, 2 knee break, one knee break, no break at all, soft boot, stiff boot, Pete will do it as you want them.

I have 2000s with a leg channel that's about as open as you can get. Pics are back on page 214 in one of my posts.

So, yes, Pete will do it. If you go back to page 212/213ish, there was somebody else asking about getting an open leg channel. There was some discussion about it back there that goes on for a few pages.

I love my leg channels and will get the exact same thing on my next set of Smiths. PM me if you have any questions.

And that looks like a nice set of gear by the way... why the choice of black weave for landing area? White would be the logical choice but I suppose its too tough to keep clean? And do you have any pics of the face? Did you get custom graphics?

Hey Sieve. How's things? Those are actually my pads in the picture so I'll try to answer your questions.
The wedge change, IMO makes for more freedom in the pads for a good rotation. I talked to Pete about the changes and that's pretty much what he said. He made the changes because they just work better this way.
Here's a picture of the leg channel. I don't know why I did it, but, the only shot of the leg channel is a side by side comparison with my old pads. The one on the right is the Smiths..LOL



As far as the black weave for the landing gear, I just liked the looks of it when I was playing with the custimizer. No reason other then that.
No custom graphics for me this time around. The only thing I changed with the graphic is the coloring of the ouside roll. It normally would be white with the way I chose the colors on the customizer. I preferred to have it done in red. Here's a picture of all the Smith gear together.
