I'm sure it has been mentioned before but, the 1000/2000/4000 are all the same trapper, simply different graphix. The 5000 is the only different one as it's pro size. Regardless, it's cool to know that Pete will consider transfering graphix around.

Oh, I thought they were different generation gloves...I guess when he comes out with a new gen glove he applies it across the 1/2/4000 line?
I was excited when he said he could do the 5000 graphic on a different glove. I have no need to go to NHL spec, and I didn't want to go to a smaller glove..

Ray you would have to talk to Pete about the side panel. I'm really not sure how all that would work out. As for how many clips I purchased, I picked up 4 of them so I have spares. Shipping cost was more than the buckles themselves.

Why are some people saying to change weave to Jenpro. I think weave looks sweet, is there a difference in playability between weave and Jenpro that I don't know about, because I was thinking of going all weave on my next pads...

weave allows you to slide faster i think. but usually, its for aesthetic reasons. some people don't like that "shinny" look to it i guess. its all personal preference

Well I'm definitely going with the silver weave, as it has that steel like that I'm looking for.

The black and red I'm still deciding on, not sure if I want to do jenpro or weave yet on those..

I wanted to have some of you guys opinion. I have mainly all white smiths i order and i was thinking of getting white nylon straps to match. Would that be a dumb idea as they would get dirty really fast or would black just be a more safer bet because they will not? I really want to get white but how fast would they get dirty and how bad? Will it be to a point of replacement because if that is the case ill just go with black. Thanks for the help

Ray

Depends how well kept you keep your pads. If you keep your pads constantly clean, then I don't think white would be a problem. However if your carry them over your shoulder, putting them in a dirty car, etc, then I would get black or else they will get real dirty real fast. Hope that helps.

This might be a stupid question but how do you properly measure pad size? Is it simply just the total length of the pad from top to botom? I ask because I'm in a pair of older SP1000's that when I bought them was told they were a 35+1. But when I measure them along the inside of the outer roll I come up with 37" overall. The bottom of the boot to the ankle measures 8" and the ankle to the top of the pad measures 29", so 37" total. Am I measuring properly? I figure the original owner should know what he ordered but when I measure I get 37" overall, not 36".

I was about to order a new set of 1000's in a 35+2 thinking I was going up a inch but should I really be ordering a 35+3 to get one more inch than what I have now? I'm only 5'10 and honestly my pads don't seem that big now, I was kinda amazed when I measured them. I just want to make sure if I order a 35+3 it will only be 1" bigger than what I have now.

ryeno will chip in when he sees this post...

when you order pads from Pete, you do not say "I want a 35+2" etc. you give him certain measurements...floor to knee, ankle to knee, skate size?, and where you want the pad to come up to on your thigh. with those measurements he will tell you what you should be in.

trust the man, he's been doing it longer than many of the members on the gsbb have been alive.

See that's what sucks, I didn't order the pads so I don't know what specs they were made too. They fit me perfectly and I basically just want exact copies of my pads now with 1" added on the thigh rise.

If they fit perfectly, wouldn't his FTK be the same?

Just ship one of the pads to Pete and have him take a shot at them
