Thats the thing, I don't know if the pad size I have now is even the right size for me or not. I just know what I have now works perfectly for me and I want the exact same pads just with one more inch on the thighrise. I probably will just send pete one of my pads to copy when I order my new set.

Or you could just measure the thighrise of your pads, add an inch and give that number to Pete with your FTK measurement?

If you give pete the surface seams measurements, I'm pretty sure he could reverse out the actual fitting measurements.

(Why does everyone want a "+1" or "+2" to everything?)

(Even if you add a "+1" they will still want a "+1")

Do you have the seller's name? Maybe Pete keeps the info on file and can just duplicate the old specs, plus one inch. Couldn't hurt to call and ask.

Some people require it.... I have a very wide natural b-fly that requires a +2, even a +3, in some MFG's to close. Ask dre, he's seen it and sold me my current Smith's that only close due to the thighboards.

Just sent Pete my deposit for a 5000 set, specs as follows:

Pads
-36"+2.5
-Silver weave/black/red
-No logos on the face of the pad
-Extra flex on thigh rise
-All straps quick release buckles (except boot strap)

Glove/Blocker
-Non-NHL spec w/ 5000 graphic
-No logos on face of glove/blocker
-Extra 1" on glove pocket
-'Back leather' mod on glove (silver weave)

Gonna be 7-8 longgg weeks

The back pad on my catcher was made of jenpro even though I didn't ask for it. I asked Pete about it and he told me that it was standard.

Well, I was just over at Pete's shop today. A pleasure to meet him. Great guy. Ordered a set of 5000 in navy/black/white with the new graphic. 34+1. Only mod is the adjustable thighrise.

Now the wait begins.....

just paid the balance of my deposit on my gear, pete said the stuff was just about ready to ship. for those interested, i ordered 36+1 sp5000s + glove and blocker. only mod was a nash palm on the glove.

Can't what to see your glove with the nash palm.. i didnt know that was an option.. very cool..

I found it was always easier waiting by reading this thread constantly. So of course it's always more interesting to check this thread if there are some pictures. I'll happily oblige you guys.


I'm playing in a summer tournament on the 25th, so I'll be sure to get some more action shots. Gotta love Smiths in Action!
