I ordered them just before May -- I got them in around 6 weeks. It was one of the longest 6 weeks of my life -- especially those last couple of days before they came in the mail!

Am I measuring correctly?

These are my pads that were supposed to be a 35" pad but when I measure them I come up with 37". Am I measuring them right? Here is how I measured.

I was wanting to go up a inch to a 36" pad on my next set (thinking I had 35") but should I now be ordering a 38"? Kinda suprised they measure this big, I'm only 5'10 and they really don't seem that big on me.

measurement

Those were my first pair of pads!My friend Jimmy who actually bought them for me said they were 35+1s.So the measurement you have there seem pretty close.(give or take 1/2"?)

haha, thats cool. I just bought them from a member on here who said he bought them from another member on here. That must of been you he was talking about. So did you actually order them as a 35+1 or did you just choose where you wanted the thigh rise to end?

When I got them I was just told they were a 35", but it must be a 35+1 or 2. I'm assuming a +2 by my measurements, I just wanted to make sure I was measuring correctly. I wasnt sure if the top and bottom binding piece was counted in the measurement, because minus those the pads would be a 35".

I guess these pads are pretty unique too, pete said they were the only SP1000's he ever made with the 2000 graphic. Too bad, because I wanted to order my next set the same way.

What are you trying to figure out?

If it's the "legal" length of the pad then the measurement should be from the middle midpoint of the pad not the outside face.

This could and might be different from the manf. custom sizing measurements.

I was just trying to figure out if I was measuring my pads correctly and to verify they really are a 37" pad. I measured them again in the center of the pad and got the same measurements. I guess I was just kinda shocked they were a 37" pad because I bought them thinking they were a 35" and almost ordered another set in a 36" thinking I was going 1" bigger. Looks like I'll be getting a 38" to get the fit I want.

Measure each section of the pad. ie boot, shin, knees, thigh. Keep in mind that the knee rolls come our from the pad giving mor surface area and making the measurement longer. I would measure that area along the inside (5 hole) seam. I have had those pads and thought that they were 35 or 36, I don't recall them being as long as a 37. Anyway I'd be curious to know what measurement you get if you do it again.

Damn, you owned these too?!?!? How many people have owned these things? Are they like the GSBB community pads or something? lol

Anyway I wasnt sure which inside seem you were talking about so I measured both and got 2 different numbers. The first one I measured was the little leather flap on the inside front corner of the pad and got 8" on the boot, 16.5" from the boot to middle of knee, then 11" from middle of knee to top of pad. So that adds up to 35.5" over all.

The the other seem I measured was the nylon one that runs along the inside edge the calf and knee wings attach too. Those measurements were 9" on the boot, 17" from boot to middle of knee, and 10.5" from middle of knee to top of pad. So 36.5" overall.

And yeah, they really don't seem that big. That's why I was shocked when I got 37" when I first measured. They do have a pretty extreme S curve too so that makes things hard to measure and them fit a little smaller than they are.

I got my 33" +2 from Pete in February. They looked big beside my old 34" so I did some measurements. The one I found to be dead on 35(33+2) was measuring from the toe of the boot channel and up the middle of the leg channel to the top of the thigh rise. Not sure if this is how Pete measures, but it came out dead on for me.

Well I just measured them like that on the inside of the leg channel and they came out to 36" exactly. So maybe that is how he does it.

So in his sizing these may be a 36" but wouldnt they really be a 37"? All other pads I have ever owned always measured pretty close to what they were supposed to be when I measured the face of the pad.

When i ordered my stuff in April I was told he wouldn't do 5000 graphics on the non NHL spec gloves so ordered my 5000's with the 2000 graphics, I wonder why he changed his mind, he was quite set in not doing it. I guess the demand was to high???

BTW I love it the pads and gloves and even though I didn't get the 5000 graphics I think they look awesome.
