My deposit is in! Now I've just got to decide if I keep my all orange thing going on or if I change it up and order a whole set that actually matches my teams colors. I always wanted retro brown pads and Pete has a nice looking brown but even he says it doesn't preform as well. Ah... What to do!?! Fortunately I have a few weeks to make up my mind.

As ugly as it may be, you could go Orange with retro brown accents or R.B. with Orange accents. It would definitely be orginal if nothing else.

Has anyone gotten their gear made with the neon green option on the smith customizer? Very curious to see what it looks like in reality. I thought about using it as an accent, but was too nervous!

The neon green is just to highlight the area for the customizer to be colored. Its not intended as an offered color.

Snl: If I was to go brown it would be dominantly brown with some gold accents. We wear newer Pens style jerseys with our logo and numbers in metallic gold. Plus I rock that brown and gold LV monogrammed mask. It would be a killer set up.

But... I just had to buy some new sticks and found some custom white and orange RBKs. After buying more orange sticks I think I might just stick with my solid orange scheme.

Here's what I ordered...

36"+3" (- one inch from the shortened boot = 38" overall)...

Oh and yeah I know they come squared off...

Umm almost all current generation pads have a square or almost square boot. With 11" pads it doesn't affect skating and helps rotation compared to a more tapered boot.

OK, for example Epics have a square toe. I guess V3s are still slightly tapered.

TPS R8s and ITech RX9s also have square boots.
