Yes. And like Richman asked previously, you should first weave the laces through the first hole in the skate cowling, so that there is not a chance for the laces to come loose and get caught under your blade during play.

No i do that but they just seem to cut. Idk if it could be the cowling but its getting bad. I tried putting tape on and after the session i was in was done the tape was gone and the lace was cut through. So im looking to see what it could be and i never have felt anything under my skate interferring. i have no idea what it could be.

Here is what i suggest...a little drastic, but at least you won't dish out $5 each ice time...

Get a metal file and file down the edges of the skate blade that meets the cowling at the front where the toe tie attaches. Stop at least 1/2'' from the bottom to leave you the cutting edge for skating and clean sharpening.

By rounding the side edges you will help prevent the lace from cutting when it rubs against the edge. That is what i think is causing the problem.

Maybe a picture of how your tied up would help?

Sweet!

Ziggy awesome color combo. I like how you have just the white on the outer rolls. I tried to match the gold in my jersey, but it's not exact...I would have been better off with what you did. Nice! Now get some action shots in those babies!

Just a proposition:

Everyone cancel your orders so that mine get here faster.

Didn't think that'd work...

So not sure if this has been discussed yet...

But one of Miami University's starting Freshman goalies (we are doing a rotation right now) is wearing some ILLY Smiths. They are the "vintage" design and I could of sworn they were Vaughn until I got a better look at them.

Now...I expect Miami to make it to the Frozen Four this year which would make it 2 straight years a set of smith pads make its there...of course...that's getting ahead of myself.

This also gives me mix feelings...Knapp is his name...we both where Vaughn gloves, have a sherwood stick (same model), and rock a set of smith leg pads...I feel like I'm going to be accused of being a copier...but I totally had it all before he even set foot on the ice here in Oxford.

He is really young, only a year older than me, so maybe I will run into him and get to let him know I had them first!

So I have wanted to try a +3 for a while...I plunked down a deposit a few weeks ago for a pair of 5000 pads. Delivery is in late November. Looking forward to it.
