The pads in that picture I dont own anymore. I made a big mistake with my measurements when ordering. Pete had me send them back, and remade me a set free of charge. The second set was the same look wise-but who knows what he did with the set pictured.
would you mind telling us what you screwed up, so it doesn't happen to others in the future?

I have the 4000s and a Smith glove set. I love the gear but one little issue I have is that in the butterfly I do not get a complete closing like my buddy does with his Itech 11.8s. Any suggestions. I still rate the pads a 10 out of 10.

Question concerning the trapper...

Has anyone else experienced a little shafing on the thumb and knuckles...or is it just my glove?

when i first got my smith glove it was a little uncomfortable on my thumb area. it felt like i could really feel the plastic piece digging in against my thunmb knuckles.
it worried me a little at first, but after about 4-5 times i used it the plastic rubbing pain went away. i don't know if i adjusted the way i held the glove (unknowingly) or if i just got used to it.

Actually Dan that is not a problem with this glove. I had that with my Eagle TT10 though. The thing is either the leather or fabric is rubbing and giving a burning sensation, which is enough to distract me at times during the game.

It might just be a question of adjusting the glove more. Just wondered if i was alone on this one.

It will most likely lessen as the glove breaks in - I had the same thing happen on my last glove (not a Smith) and it went a way after a half dozen or so uses.

Just an update for those who are anxiously awaiting their pads (like me!)...

Got a call from Pete a few minutes ago saying my pads are being shipped out today. That makes it exactly 17 weeks to the day from initial order to shipment date.

I ordered in early August, so whoever ordered in mid-August is coming up next!

Can't wait...this shipment time is going to be the worst wait ever!!

I'll post pics as soon as they arrive.

Can't wait to see the new gear!

Catcher issue - I never felt anything wierd with my gloves and definitely did not feel any chaffing. I'd make sure that nothing opened up inside it... but I guess it could be your hand too. I'd first check inside, if everything feels covered like it should, then maybe wear it a few times and see if it's better. If it's not, I'd check with Pete. Perhaps something got messed up... doubtful, but you never know.

I had a seam rip open on a brand new tps bionic catcher once... so, it happens from time to time.

I didn't really notice it much today...maybe cause i sucked this one time .

The top of my thumb joint does protrued(?spell) some due to old injuries, and so rubs on the mesh on the inside. That could be why. If anything, i will build thicker skin there and it will be a non-issue.

Those are some sweet Smith's! I bought my Smith set off this guy. He's had a few brand new Smith pads and gloves for sale over the last couple of years.

seems odd..
sweet gear.. good price and no wait time..
makes me wish the pads were the correct size.

The person selling them is less than an hour from Pete, maybe there is some association.
