So now you're an expert on menstruation and fiscal responsibilities of parents with teenage children. You're just a regular Renaissance Man.

That's like the same morons that always whine about NHL goalies who close their eyes. It's a still photo with like a 1/4000th of a second shutter speed- he was blinking.

Just curious if any of you guys wear your velos with the top strap tighter and up at a higher position then below the knee? I've been noticing that my b-fly during a game is not as wide as it is off the ice so I was thinking of switching up that strap, sort of like how Dipietro has his so that the thigh rise of my pad wraps more around the knee to close the 5 hole better.

I wear the top strap on the highest buckle, fairly tight. It helps the pads curve and close up my 5 hole. I like it, but it takes a game or two to get used to.

Ok, cool thanks man. I'll give it a try tonight at open hockey and see how it feels. May not want to do it in my playoff game on Sunday night though
EDIT: Thanks for the input gsus...I wear a +2 as well. Guess I gotta try it to see

midol is also just a marketing gimmick. ibuprofen works fine

As a female, I can assure you ibuprofen definitely isn't "fine" some weeks. Well, unless you mean taking 10 pills every 2 hours. Sometimes, Tylenol 3's don't even seem good enough. Depends on how much pain the hormones decide they want to put me though.
Boys... tsk tsk.
Staying on topic, what's the break like on the Epic trapper? I tried one on at Perani's in Windsor, ON a while ago and hated the feel, but wasn't sure what it was comparable to. I definitely prefer the Velo (which I think is unpopular here).

I am pretty sure the Epic has a 60 degree brak, and it is the attempt by Vaughn to capture the essence of the 5500, which the majority of Vaughn users prefer.

I compare the break to the Epic to a 5500, especially if you are talking about an NHL spec size. If you ask the guys at Vaughn USA they will tell you the same. The Epic was actually made to replace the 5500. The only difference that I was able to tell right away was that the 5500's have a molded inner palm while the stock Epic glove is flatter at the finger tip area. I had my Epic made with the 5500 inner palm so it has more of a curve in that area like the traditional 5500.

The epic is not a 60 degree. it closes completely different from my rbk and bionic. both are 60 gloves

Does anyone have a pair of Vaughn BLUE thigh boards they might want to trade??
I have a new set of black and a used pair of white Vaughn Thigh boards to trade for your Blue set.
Let me know.
