If they say the +1 will be included in the +3, that means that he will be getting a +3, or I suppose in some sense, a +2 since the plus sizing is supposed to indicate extra inches beyond what comes standard.

The blocker is stock NHL spec and the glove is supposed to have an Osgood spec break pretty much the old break from when vaughn was using the tek pad. And Aaron could correct me if im wrong but an inch might be added to the pocket depth. And my crappy job of removing the cheater bar

Paul, how does the V3 trapper compare to the V2 and the T5500? I've recently gone back to the 5500 glove and was thinking of ordering another one.....buuuuut maybe not?

their both cathching gloves but pretty different other then that. You would probably like it but the cuff is a little to stiff for my liking, I also fear that leaving a 5500 after I feel so in love with them again would kill my game. By the way old break5500<then newer break

Heretic! Removing a cheater bar!!

I didn't request the extra pocket depth, it came like that.

Gas,

I was a little worried the +3 would end up being ridiculous, so I called up the pro shop today and they had Vaughn change it to +2. Luckily, no material was cut yet. Anyway, by the looks of yours, a 35+2 should be perfect. Thanks for the advice!

...yeah really, I never appreciated how great the 5500 was till I went to the Velocity and then switched back to the 5500....everything about that glove is great.

I checked out some Vaughn gear the other day and was really pleased. I wear really stripped down gloves and I feared stock gear would seem really heavy but the V3 blocker felt very well balanced and I really liked the feel of the sideboard. It didn't feel like the blocker would slide around my hand if I had to make a desperate save. Everything moved with me. I did compare it to an intermediate V2 blocker and they were almost the same exact size. The sideboard seemed a little bit larger and beefy on the V3 pro.

I've never seen too many Vaughn gloves up close but the V3 was pretty spectacular. I've never had something feel so snug on my hand and wrist. I just had a problem with the break. I've got smaller than average hands and I just really couldn't close it comfortably. It felt like I had to close it with my fingers. I really loved how you can open so much of the glove up for adjustment and airing out. Is there anything similar that I could get a more comfortable break? Is it just having to break the glove in a bit? I'd love to order the V3 glove with a little bit larger tee.

The pads felt great. I'm a little ignorant to mainstream gear because I never get exposed to too much of it. I was always concerned with how the Vaughn pads may break down and wear. They seemed very solid and extremely comfortable. There was a nice layering and arrangement of padding for comfort and protection and flexibility. They feel great out of the box but is that in sacrifice of breaking down faster? I'm still a tad concerned for the breaking down and wear of Vaughn pads because I see many auctions and selling of Vaughn sets after a season of use. However, I always see a used set be able to sell for up to 900 US or more. Is this because of some combination of guys liking their fresh Vaughn gear, the high price of customization, and the high demand of Vaughn gear for a discount price?
