Size large. I'll see if I can get any action photos with it on, but my 2 winter seasons are dying down. Spring starts in a couple weeks though. It is such a comfy C/A though. It is lined with a coolmax/UA wicking type material that is VERY soft to the skin, instead of nylon like in the GK that I previously had.

Also, the C/A seems very high quality out of the box. No loose or unfinished seams, and everything is nice and taught. It is also very adjustable.

Yeah, I tried it one on a few months back...it felt awesome. I ended up going with a GK because it was about half the price and at the time I was already shelling out the cash for pads and gloves. But now I am wishing I had the Epic I really like the smaller elbow floaters on that bad boy. Good luck with it dude.

I did like my GK. It was a solid unit, however, I had some qualms with it. It's belly protection was not the best. I had some stingers there. Also, it rode rather low (along the same lines as the RBK or Koho 590). Even with a dangler, I regularly had shots hitting me in the clavicle. The unit retained a lot of heat as well. I'm hoping the Epic, which is constructed with a lot of Vaughn's "Dura-Mesh" material, will be lighter and cooler. The Dura-Mesh is a lot like the mesh used in the backhands of some gloves currently on the market.

Otherwise, the thing was pretty much bomb proof. The shoulders, chest, arms, and elbows were great when the puck hit them. I'm pretty sure the Vaughn will please me as well.

I'm wearing it as I type this, and it is very mobile and still takes up a lot of area from what I can see.

Thanks a lot, I'm about 5'10/11" and around 140 so large would probably be great for me. I would like a little room to grow and the smaller pro specs should make it light enough and less bulky enough to be perfect.

I come from a long line of tall, lanky gentlemen. My dad is the exception (6'2", 270), but every other man in his prime was 6'3"+, only around 200 lbs. I'll gain weight in the coming years, but I want to gain it the right way (muscle mass, not beer belly )

I'm just a twig.

I grow late. My dad gained 40 lbs and 4 inches during his freshman year of college, so until then, I'm skinny as ****.

I'm only 16 now.

Well that's true...if it's in your genes plus I forgot that you are still young yet. I weight train on a regular basis and I am about 5'8", 29 yrs old, but have a hard time staying in the "range" that the doctor's charts say (between 140 and 170...yeah right LMFAO). Just based on my frame I could never really get below 185 without looking all f'd up

Yep. I have a couple years to grow still I'm just hoping I don't outgrow this C/A, because I paid for all $400+ out of my own pockets!

Can anyone who has actually used both a Velo and Epic C/A compare them in terms of bulk and mobility?
