I saw a post somewhere about the V3 pants being smaller/tighter than the V2 pants.

Last night I wore my V3 pants for the first time. They're DEFINITELY more snug than the V2 pants. I'm sure they'll loosen up a bit after wearing them, but they are a bit smaller fit for the same size pants.

As far as protection, they're every bit as protective. I didn't notice much of a difference in coverage between the V2 & V3 pants, so that's a positive. Overall, after they get broken in I think they'll be awesome pants, and after the deal I got on them they're a great find.

I just got some Bryzgalov spec Velos, very soft knee breaks, certainly more so than a standard pad.

Can you post pics of your new pads? How are the breaks different...is it something that is done to the pad internally?

Question for those who have ordered custom from Vaughn - do you know if Vaughn will do custom size pants? I know Brown will but I love my V3 pants. Just need them to be bigger than the stock XXL.

BT - Next time you wander up North, you should take a pic of that Kings old school colored V3 set (33+1) and post it. I would if I had been smart enough to bring a camera with us.

V3 wearers

V3 wearers:

I noticed that all of the leather straps seem to be in their own little pockets. What keeps the buckle end in the pocket, without pulling through? Are the buckles and straps easily removable, without tools?

If I'm not mistaken, the buckle end is sewn in to the pad and not a strap that pulls through the pad.

I could be wrong, but that's how it looks to me.

the straps are easyly removed , excluding the nylon ones and the buckles are sewn in, excluding the plastic ones.
i hope this pic helps.

the straps are put in little slots and removed with no tools.

I picked up these a few weeks ago from Mike Wall (used these when he was with the Ducks). Very nice pads. Very soft.
