I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you're going to go custom, V2's aren't going to be priced much differently than V3's.
My advice would be find a used set that you like. There's a board member with a set of 36+2 V3's on eBay in blue and red with some awesome mods if you're interested.
There is also the Smith route. Simaler feel, mods available, very good price, but, from what I understand, the wait time is pretty long.
hope that helps

wait time is now 4-5 weeks according to smith site ( Smith Hockey), which is the lowest I've ever seen it.

I stand corrected, that's a ridiculously short wait time.

I have Smiths and I love them. Vaughns are great too, very trustworthy, can't really go wrong. I actually used to wear Vaughn Visions until i outgrew them and wanter soemthing with more landing protection. The reason I chose Smith was because:
1. Pete used to design vaughns
2. fully customizable with nice add-ons as well (adjustable thigh rise) and standard sliding toe-bridge
3. not overpriced, and add-ons not expensive either
4. read alot of good stuff about them
Either way you go, you're getting a quality pad.

I love the V3's but the price is ridiculous. I cant afford them. So im considering getting another pair of V2's. Can someone get me a picture of some V2 pads sizing of a +2 of the inner thigh. I want to see how the thigh rise is with a +2.
Another queston...If I was to order these V2's, gloves and pads from Goalie monkey in Custom colors and sizes, what would be an estimated price? Thanks

what size int's did you have ?
were they 11 inch ?

Vaughn Customer Service
I have an order place with Vaughn and I received a phone call from their customer service department to confirm a list of modifications I have asked for. Top notch customer service!

Legal or Illegal>
Im not really sure were to post it so i figured here would be a pretty good thread.
If you look at the inner leg part there are little things sicking out. I need to know if this is Pro-Spec, or if it will be Illegal in the NHL. Thanks...

99% chance those are illegal. The "little things" on the inner leg mean that this is probably last year's velocity 2 so it is most likely 12" wide.

Pretty sure that is illegal. I think the rules state that there can't be any protruding pieces like that on the inside shin area.

v2 straps
I just purchased a used pair of Vaughn Velocity 2 leg pads. I all looking for imput on the wearing of the top two main straps. I assume the quick release buckles can be relocated. What is the best placement for these? My old pads were louisville xhale. Please either PM me or email me at bradyscottm31@aol.com

I just got my 7500 V3 pants in last week. If anyone wants some information about them pm me. I believe that there isn't too much info about them and instead of making a horrible review I'd post that I have em.

Those Price spec pads look sweet but anyone bidding on them should note that they are only Price SPEC not Price RETURN.
Just thought I would throw that out there.
