hey guys, I have V2's that are just the stock 35" and I am about to get custom pads ordered. The problem that i am having is that with the 35's i have a little bit of an opening when i go into my butterfly, What size would you guys reccomend me going with? like 35+2 or 36+1 or what? I dont have any where that i can go to try on any pads so i thought that i would ask you guys for you opinion.

The +2 might help, but getting them "squared up" (like on V3's) would be better.

Umm, yeah lets not cut anything off too soon. Try loosening up the top straps and see how that works.

Trapper question
Hey guy's I'm sure this has been mentioned but I suck at using this boards search feature.
Do any of you guys know if I could get a V3 graphic on the 8800 Catch?
Also can anybody compare the 8800 or 5500 to the v2 catch?
Thanks.

Graphic Question
Hey that is great news. I'm not very thrilled with the V3 catch. I'm getting ready to order new gear and I think I'm going to get the 8800 catch instead of the V3. If I couldn't get it with v3 graphics that wouldn't change my mind. I just think it will look nicer that way.

You don't want the V2 glove. Get an 8800 or a 5500. The V2 is big pancake, kind of like the V1, but butchered. The Epic and 5500 are much nicer.

Its all about preference, so dont worry too much THe V2 is just more of a surface coverage kind of design, suffers from more pop outs vs the 5500However, i think most long term vaughn users have come to understand that the 5500 is a great catch and quite widely used at most high levels of hockey.

Yeah I have a V2 now but I need new stuff, so I thought the 8800 would be easier to get used to than the new V3, (yuck!).
Another question I have is, does anybody have the V3 leg pads with a V2 leg channel. Is there a big difference between the two leg channels? I've tried on the V3 and I know the channel is wider but how does that play out on the ice?
I'm just looking for an on ice comparison.

Is it possible to get the V3 gloves in the old normal sizing? Or is that a custom order from Vaughn....

I took out the top strap and leaned forward, but that's rediculous. Why would I lean forward in the butterfly in a game? I mean, I try to stay straight but not forward, I need balance. I think I'll probably just sell the pads.

I dont think you can do that. Why would you want the old sizing anyway, I like the pro spec alot better.

I'm more curious as to why you'd buy pads that are known for having the 5 hole gap and tapered thighs if you're gonna complain about the 5 hole gap. On the other hand it really shouldn't matter. Stick positioning solves the issue and almost all pads have a small gap. I had a miniscule 5 hole gap with my v2s but I never had anything go in through it.
