I tried on the velocitys yesterday... really nice pads, much more flexible then then RbK's. (though I didn't try on the turco break). I think I'll be getting them if I don't like the one95's.

Sell those RBK knee pads, and grab a newer version of them with straps going above and below the knee caps to hold the pad in place. Like this one:

It has two straps above the knee, and two below, holding it in place. It also has the removable plastic thigh guard which moves up when down in the butterfly, offering more protection in the thigh region when your pants slide up. My pants don't slide up much when I'm in the b-fly, so I just removed it (I have Mckenney Pro pants). But, I suppose it works well for some. They don't impede upon my V2's at all.

So far, mine have held up nice, and I don't have many issues with the knee pads sliding down my leg. I haven't got a single stringer in the thigh and knee region for almost 6 months. Judging from all the puck marks on the knee pads, they're doing their job

Maybe someone else will have a more economical way of helping you, though

epic 8800 catcher question..

ok, so i noticed that the epic's top part of the "T" was different than the one on the RBK PS2, my question is, will vaughn lift the top part of the T by an inch or so so that it is easier for me to puck handle ??

No VAUGHN won't do that. You can't really compare the two gloves because everything is slightly different. I can tell you that if you can puck handle with the PS II then you shouldn't have a problem with the EPIC, especially if you like the TURCO hand over method.

well, first of all, thanks, second of all, i think i may be wrong but i tried on the epic, got a random rbk stick, and tried the turco hand over method, which i love and i noticed that it was difficult because the T was flush with the rest of the glove..

anyways, you are a professional i think and i guess your words are right

Sounds like you like a flexible pad - the stock One95s are like bricks.

LOL... I'm far from a PRO, but I do know what you are talking about. The T does bend back a bit with use and the glove does work well with the overhand shooting method. Like all gloves, it does need to be worked in a bit.

Are they stock, or did you customize that inverse tribal?

Yeah, I think I may too, though I feel breaking them in would help some too

A quick question here, is the only difference between the velocity 7500 and the velocity 7400 the thigh board and the extra padding at the knees?

Thanks much!

No the 7500 is the pro model pad, 7400 is a lower quality.

Obviously I figured that... but same material and such? Or is that the difference between Pro and non-pro models? I wish goalie monkey would include better specs like weight and such.

Yes. Quality is in question. Pro models tend to have a longer life spand because of the materials. Most pro models ( except the One95's) are made in Canada with more "care" if you will .
