Help Please
I need some advice from fellow Vaughn users. I recently purchased a set of custom NHL spec V2. They are posted back a little while ago, black and orange. My problem is that when I tried a bunch on in the store they fit perfect. The ones I got fit a little big (tall). When I bfly, my knee is landing on the lower half of the landing pad and actually falls off of it completely too. Is this something that will get better as the pads break-in more? Right now I've had them for 2 1/2 months and I play roughly 2 times per week so I wouldnt think they are totally broken in yet. Is there something I can do with the strapping to help with this problem? Basically I need to know if I'm screwed w/ pads that don't fit Thanks

I would suggest making the top strap(adjustable nylon one) and move the buckle to the highest one possible. Make this strap a little tight, so when you are in stance they start to pull back towards your thigh. When you drop it will pull your pads in and thus making them seem shorter. I had the same problem, but when i tightened that strap a little it seemed like it made them "shorter". My knee lands in the middle now as were it used to land close to the bottom. If you think about it , when you are in bfly the pads will close a make an upside down "L". but if you don't do that the pads will kinda make a V when they close( if you picture your feet being at the top of the V) That was my way of explaining how it would make them "shorter" Also try to make the knee lock relatively tight. I have found it keeps your knee from slipping off the landing gear and keeping your leg tighter to the pad. But the knee lock strap does stretch over time. If you have any more questions let me know. I hope this sort of helps. Chris#33

Thanks for the reply Chris. So you are saying to tighten the top strap (the one that runs through my thigh boards) and move the buckle up so that the strapping is more of a traditional one?

i know the boot on my pads is still way stiff. The thighrise flexs quite a bit, flex on the boot a lot, that should move the pad down a bit lower, maybe even try tightening the bootstrap

Just got new NHL spec Velocity2 C/A
These are 6 months old, but I haven't posted them to this thread yet, so here's
the pic (pic was taken when they were new)
And I have V2 pants and Epic cup too, so that tells what I think about Vaughn.

I'm guessing it is because this is the gear Vaughn is getting ready for the One Goal Hockey Show in Toronto... http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums...howtopic=27431
and that c/a is definitely part of the package.
