I get what you're saying, but you have to wonder if anyone looking at Vaughn pads has ever decided to go with ******* because they look similar and are cheaper. I bet that Vaughn loses some sales do to *******, but an insignificant amount.
I have to give credit to ******* on one thing though -- they decided to stick with the V2 graphic (which Vaughn should have done) instead of going with a busy, ugly devil tails graphic (which Vaughn did). Smart move by *******.

You shouldn't be using the palm to make saves. For redirecting some shots, yes, but if you're having that much of a problem, than either you need to adjust your catching style or get a new glove.
I'm sorry, but I find it unfathomable that you say you've become too dependent on the pocket to make a save. The pocket IS what you're supposed to catch it with.
You might as well get a blocker for your left hand if that's the case or work on catching more.

Vaughn question.
If I'm using 35+1 Itech 9.8's, what size V3's should I be looking at?
I heard they're made smaller, so would 35+2 or something in that range be what I should be looking at getting?

Hey runner I noticed the same thing with the source custom that I had tried on. It seemed to have a very deep palm and less width then the one I ended up getting. I think they changed it ever so slightly in 2003 so I asked for the older form of it when I ordered mine. I plan on going pro spec soon as well and am not sure what I will do glove wise but probably order what I have now or a v3. my 5500 has lots of mods to make the pocker very defined so thats probably why I like it so much compared to other I have tried on

I would think either 35+2, 36+1, or 36+2 would work. The best way to find out is to try some on in your store with skates and pants on.

Obviously, I use the pocket to make the save.
I don't think I'm explaining myself right. With the pro spec, you feel like you are almost grabbing the puck with your bare hand.
With the old spec, you almost feel like you have a small web to catch with that is attached above your hand.
So it just feels weird going from one to the other.

Ok, that makes more sense.
I use a 46" glove already so I'm used to it. I actually can catch much better with it than a 48" glove.

I was thrilled at the new pro spec for gloves because I no longer have the feeling that I was catching the puck with a butterfly net or a peach basket.
Feeling the puck hit the glove webbing is what is supposed to happen. It is right and proper

Stuck some mock-up V3 gear on some goalie... No second stripe on pads.
The colours are off the mark, photoshop-work is quick and dirty, perspective is skewed, sizes are wrong... but other than that, I'm trying t get some indication of this design.
Comments please?

Does anyone know what # this little triangle is on the Vaughn order sheet? It seems to be the thumb piece, and to be linked with #11, but I'm not sure.
Thanks.

EDIT: Wait, no...hold up. Just checked my custom sheet and I had a seperate number for the thumb (14).

Ya, it's the V3 glove sheet I'm looking at. I thought they used to have a seperate # for the thumb, but nothing on the new sheet for the V3. It's not clear how far that #11 on the new sheet goes around the glove...
