You got to love hockey. The only sport where it's ok for men to sew... and even wear garter belts and stockings. This tool looks awesome, putting it on my list of things to buy.

Another good idea! I wish I had a video camera, the whole thing takes 2 minutes to explain.

This is great. I have one of those, and have no idea how to use it, and once managed to stick my thumb really good with it.
I might finally learn how to use this thing instead of ramming two layers of leather through the wifes singer and busting all the needles.

Just a quick tip, before I tie the knot in the end, I backstitch like a sewing machine does for extra holding power. If I am really scared the knot might let go I will even put a small dab of superglue on it.

If Jeff gets the pics I'll be happy to add them to the Wiki.

Thank you so much ladies and gentlemen. I enjoy modding my gear, but very little of what I do turns out looking pretty. This tool will help dramatically.

What's everyone's clamping method of choice?
the plier-esque clamps in kohomcm's shot below look a little big for all jobs:

But I've also seen others who use surgical clamps:
What's the consensus method (obviously depends on the repair/mod being done)?

I use roach clips.
Seriously, I really don't clam mine, although I should. Something with a rubber tip would be best as alligator clips or anything with teeth will leave marks.

Hey KMc,
The orange grips where just for show, I dont ussually use them unless I am using the dremmel tool. When I am holding the fabric/material together most of the time I use small head pins to hold everything together as I stitch.

Clamps? I have never used them on hockey equipment before, unless you count when I was cutting plastic for my catcher palm, and the time I was trying to break in my Brian's glove.

Very handy thread, thanks very much! Just used the Speedy Stitcher to attach thigh boards to my Reactor 3's (the stock attachment is... lacking) and this thread helped a lot.
