Hey guys,

I got an email from Kirk with some pictures of the new stuff he's been working on. Thought you all might want to take a look.

Kirk also said he is working on a brand new trapper to go with this stuff so might have some pics of it in the near future too. Thanks.

I'm hoping to try a set of the gloves in the near future, but don't know about the pads since my set is very new and almost the same. Hopefully I'll get together with Kirk soon though to take a look at everything.

I'd say they are closest to a Velocity because of the leg channel. You can take a look at my pads here for a look at the old leg channel, although I'm pretty sure Kirk has made some changes there too. I think they are quite unique in themselves though, and Kirk is pretty willing to customize I think (but you would have to ask him for a more definitive answer).

The roller pads are mine. They are 32" + 2" and weigh exactly 5lbs w/4 knee lifts, 2 shin lifts and thighboards. I just received them late last week and have not played in them yet. This is my 4th pair of pads from Kirk Jennison and I could not be happier. As you can see from the pics he made some changes, mostly thinning out the pads. The pads come a bit stiff if you prefer them that way but with a little work and using "under the table" technique for a few days, they are shaping nicely and staying in the "S" curve which I prefer. They are much more flexible than the preivious pads I had, and just as protective. I want to play in them a few times before I give a full review. I have owned Battram and Vorteks, both great companies and great pads but I prefer Jennison for fit and function. Kirk is a great guy and a great pad maker, I would recommend him to anyone.

Those are some very nice looking pads, still not a huge fan of the graphic but they look good. When either of you guys gets a pic of the leg channel please share it with us.

Thanks

Hans

The graphic on the roller pad is not the stock graphic. That is what Kirk and I put together for my pads only.

As for the leg channel, identical to Aaron's pads other than 1 of the shin lifts and 2 of the knee lifts are velcro attached instead of them all being laced in. Much easier to take out or put in to customize.

h3ocke3y, I'm not a fan of either graphic (the roller or the ice one) but it does look better IMO in the two colour combo vs the three colour combo.( sorry)

The boot also looks a little "chunky" but I think that might be due to how square it is. What's the skate boot channel like, is it shallow or deep?

The new boot channel is shallow. It is not as shallow as most but it is by no means deep. about the same depth as the original Velo in my opinion. The boot on the new pads is about an inch shallower than on Aaron's older model.

i think the chunkiness comes from the way he brings the toe of the pad over the front of the skate.

Thigh Rise/nhl Specs

The pads he did for me are 11" wide w/+2" on the rise so I would assume he can. I would contact Kirk if you have specific questions.

If you check the Equipment links & Links to DC Templates thread that is stickied you would see this:

Don't know if it has been updated with the new gear.
