FYI consider the cold form foam, small upcharge but very nice.

Through our contact that never came up... I just did the normal head measurements and 3 pictures. He didn't even mention cold form foam. Three weeks is about what I expected. 5 week wait + 3 week shipping is about 2 months wait for my mask. Still better than my other choice, ProtechSport. 16 week wait is just ridiculous.

I ordered my "Stacey" mask in late March and hope to get it in late May.
Like you, cold foam never came up in our numerous, entertaining conversations. Stace has been amazing through the process and I welcomed his many suggestions for special tweaks to handle my needs and fit my "Buick-sized" melon. (I was thinking I was more like a full-sized Chevy, but in his global perspective, my melon is more the size of a land-barge).
In my 30+ years in goal, I have had just about every mask you can think of, and after researching the product, reading this and other threads, and finally speaking to "the man" himself, this will be the best yet (and in my case; my last)!
FYI, we agreed on BALLISTIC construction on a Space Tech Mach 10/H model with "hidden bands" back plate, K ear vents, and "black-fade-to-silver/silver fade-to-black" paint scheme.
I will add photos to this thread when I receive it -- providing your screen is large enough to fit my "buick-sized" helmet!
Can't wait!

Poor choice of wording here IMO. 16 week wait might be too long for you, but if there's that many people in line waiting (which we know is the problem) than I don't think it's ridiculous. The man just has a sh*tload of orders!

Edit for what i believe is the truth.. the guy is working a full time job at Michellin Tire corp.. and mask making is just a super awesome side gig...
Thust the delay.. more than one order i would think would cause a delay. if mask making isnt your full time job.
Evil. not trying to start problems But this is why i think there is such a long wait.
If it was his full time gig. he would probably have "normal" wait times..

If you want to wait that long be my guest. I had a budget to work with and didn't want to wait too long. I'm playing much more hockey these days with better players. I want to minimize the time spent wearing my poor fitting Eddy, thus minimizing the risk of injury. I expressed my priorities with Stacey and he did far more than he had to in order to help (Thank you again Stace for the deal!). And I'm 100% confident in his abilities due to all the positive reviews I've read and the knowledge I can tell he has by discussions we had over email.

Yes, it's a well known fact that this is a side job for him. Mix that in with a long line of orders and you get a 16 week wait period. It's not like it's because he's super slow and takes 16 weeks to make 6 masks. The guy actually cares about his customers and feels bad about the wait time.

Oh by no means am I saying that you should have to wait or should wait. You do what you want, and what works best for you. No question there. You have no need to explain why you went with Stacey. He makes a great mask as well. I was just adding my 2 cents that it might not have been the best terminology to use there. It sounds more like the wait time was too long for you to wait, while ridiculous tends to imply it's not worth the time and there's something wrong with the mask manufacturer because of it. I'm not trying to slam you here or anything, just hoping people don't take it too negatively because Michel makes a fantastic mask that is well worth the wait (IMO) if you can afford the time.

Gotcha... No, the ProTech mask is a very nice one. I really wanted a cheater cage that only Protech offers (Yes, I know Sportmask offers one too but, I don't know why I just didn't want a Sportmask). I'm just not willing to wait that long when somebody else can make a very nice mask as well within a more reasonable time frame. I actually think ridiculous describes a 16-18 week wait pretty well considering the competition all have 5-8 week. More than twice the wait isn't ridiculous? Obviously that is just opinion though, the fact is they both make a great mask.

The more I use this mask (Mach 10) the more I appreciate it. Having seen a number of different quality masks over the past few months and really looking at laminating techniques and doing some beginner layups myself, I'm really glad I'm in one.
I know not everyone can afford one, but if you are looking into a new mask, consider a Stacey, and contact the guy, he'll work with you.
