Been waiting to see some pics of the evolution line! Thanks for sharing.

I like my pads to be as flexable as possible. So i was thinking of selling my smiths and buying a set of these.

They were custom for me. But they end up being pretty much a 33.5"

I ordered the sliding toe bridges, a 4th knee stack ( mostly cuz I weigh 240lbs with all my gear on ) I got all nylon straps ( 5 ) and leather boot strap. Im thinking I shouldve gotten the lower ankle strap leather as well....

Pro-Fly leg channel which gave me a very flat leg channel, flat boot to help in push-offs. The Nash channel is very pillow-like, much better than my old Fusions.

Thigh Boards, and removable velcro knee strap. The biggest difference I got, was the solid outer roll, no breaks, these pads are more than enough flexy to need the breaks. All weave "Robocop", graphics too. I didnt want the thigh wing, I guess it may help in sliding or balance, but I didnt go for it.

Max

I can't recall if the Evos had an offset leg channel, but it's certainly something worth having.

They do, but you can get them straight as well. I got mine only slightly offset.

I got basically what MadMax31 mentioned. I didn't get the 4th knee stack or solid outer roll, but I would recommend them both.

Hey there,
Do you have more pics of this gear set of yours? I'd love to see the back and sides, this is a very impressive looking set from Viper!

here is my new Evo's. James did a very nice job and I can't wait to get these on the ice.

I must admit, they are quite different from my Smiths. I'll post a review in a couple of days as far as initial thoughts go.

If someone could host this for me or tell me how to put the actual pic in my post, that would be nice too.

as requested, i got off my butt and took more pictures:

The blocker
Mods: Extra Thumb protection and Ridge

The catcher
Mods: DoubleT, Deeper and Extended Pocket, Doube Pro Palm, Pancaked

The legpads
Mods: Knee Break, Squared Toes, Large Landing Gear , Knee n Calf Lock, Knee n Calf Stack, Double Rail Ridge, Nylon and Plastic Buckle Straps, Pre-Curved

Mini Review:
The blocker is doing fine....what else can i say...no stingers...
The glove is also doing fine...no stingers...broke in just after a couple of games
The pads are also doing fine...no stingers...took a little while to get used to the thigh rise...its weird to get used to having your thigh rise overlap when youre on stance. I wear my pads really loose, but the knee n calf lock keeps your leg comfy n cozy and in place. I hated all the knee and calf stacks at first, cuz i was litteraly falling off them, i just had to fix the straps and now i land on them perfectly. As far as the Double Rail Ridge, I saw them on the Dx2s, I'm not sure if theyre meant to be a last line of defense, or to give you less surface contact with the ice when you side on them...i havent really noticed it. Also, since i wear the leg straps loose, the calf wrap flares out a little ( last pic ) That might help stop a puck. The knee break is good, gives it an easy curve to help close up the 5 hole.

What size are they, and did you take an inch off the boot? It looks like it.

geez i dont even remember, i think theyre 36+3, but after shrinkage and curving..its just right. i didnt have anything done to the boot, maybe its just the angle or how they were made.

Because the level we play at represents our gear choice..... I'm a soon-to-be beer leaguer and will also be aiming for some nice pads. We love the sport, it's that simple.
