I got new Prodigy gloves

Just received these slightly used Itech Prodigy 9.8 gloves from forum member Golman(Vlad)

They came yesterday and they are sweet! Thanks Vlad! I currently have a set of Itech Profile 9.1's but they needed to be replaced. Wanted to stick w/the Itech gear. If you look at the trapper you can see a bar along the heel . I think it's called a Spoiler. What benefit does this provide? I'm just guessing but does it deflect pucks off the heel over the net?
