I have seen Sara's leg pads that she made first hand. Very well built, not a stitch out of place.
I'm having my calf and knee wings recovered or replaced over the holidays while in Fort Wayne. Looking forward to getting rid of the tiger stripes on my UL 2's.

I already had an order filled a couple of weeks ago. Saw a set of nice looking lifts on ebay...followed the link to her website...then, noticed she was actually a poster here!!!
So..emailed her and asked her to make me a set of knee locks, lifts and knee wings for my Son's Bauer Supreme Pro pads. She did everything to the spec I asked, incuding dimensions and colors. They are in the mail and I'll post some before and after photos when done but here are the photos she sent me:

I find the photo seems to make them look a bit thin but I confirmed they were 1/2" thick as I requested. Should be fun working on the install. Gotta keep living vicariously through my kid!!!

The lifts are 1/2" but the jenpro wings are going to be around 3/8" thick. I use a solid piece of HD instead of the LD and a 1/8" piece of HD combo I have found on most pads so far. This may affect how many knee stacks you need total, so if you find a problem just let me know. I can start making my wings thicker using a layer of LD if that is the popular vote. In the mean time if it's a problem with anyone I can send out two extra stacks.

We had the tiger stripes removed from my son's UL2 knee wings. He says they slide much better now. Had it done locally (by the guy that does equipment repair for the Ducks).

The outside wing is fine...as long as they are firmer, thin is fine, less weight to sew on the outside edge. I'll just have to see whether I need another set of lifts or not overall. No worries...
BTW...the blue you picked looks dead on in the photos. I really didn't care as long as it was reasonably close but...looks perfect.

So it's not just me?!
I've been meaning to get this done for some time, just haven't had the time off to wait. I'm hockey free for two weeks after tomorrow night, so I'll be able to get it done. Glad to hear it solved the problem.

Can you not just use a seam ripper to remove the stripes? I haven't seen them up close, but I'm thinking they're just stitched on.

No, they are underneath. They are just sewn down around the edges of the stripes.
The only remedy I've found so far (without recovering the wings) is just to coat them with goop ( smooth it out before it dries ) or just beeswax. But that has to be redone every other game or so for it to really work.
