anyone else have the problem with their XIX skates where the padding on the inside of the ankle is gone and is rubbing on something very hard?

happened to me in my XIV's i eventually got a bone bruse of the inside of my ankle from it. it was in a week long goalie camp and since i couldnt find new skates i had to get inovative.

first i started by wearing some foam bunion dounught things on the inside of my ankle. still didnt work so i tried wearing 2 and then 3(which got kinda akward to skate in). so then i found these heel liners and cut them into peices and built up around the pressure point. worked for the rest of the week long camp, but then i found some cheep ccm 659 super tacks and decided to ditch my painful XIV's.

yeah it happened to me during a goalie camp on wednesday. i just picked up a new pair of them since they did last me 3 years i guess the time has just come. i tried so many different pressure pads and nothing seemed to work.

Ok, I'm confused here, is Nike bauer now making the XXX line again for '08 at a reduced price??? I found this on goaliedeals.com and I'm not sure what to think!!

Hmm, I wonder if I'll be able to custom order a set of 33+3's from Dukes, that would absolutely be killer!!

Dom told me starting in January his masks will just say Bauer on them. No more Nike. Also..his website should be updated very soon. As for the weight of the Vapor mask..most are falling just under 2lbs. Still very light and strong!

I believe they're made overseas now. This might be jumping the gun too, but I think this is just a low-volume stock run for certain retailers. Just from looking at the pictures, the quality doesn't look quite up to what it was before.

Nike sold off the Bauer unit earlier this year, so the Nike branding is going to be phased out within a year or so.
