Anybody know when TPS would be coming out with a new pad? If I do pull the trigger on a custom set of R8's, I don't want them to be taken over by another series. I know most usually don't come out for a few months, for the next season, but is TPS making another pad this year?

I haven't heard anything yet. As far a I know the bank is in the R8s. I assume they're working on getting the structure of the company settled right now. We'll prolly see a new product at the beginning of next season at the earliest and it most likely won't go into production till about Jan.-Feb.

Very true, forgot about the log jam in TPS-ville. A plus to going with TPS is the guy at Total Hockey said he could arrange a meeting to get fitted, and go over specs/mods on a custom set. A definite plus.

Surprisingly the only mod I went with was the Anderson knee set-up and the +3. Everything else on them is perfect and home mod-able.

R8 users: How much slack are you using on your toe ties? I'm still trying to figure out the sliding toe bridge.

I use about 1.5 inches, but I like the corner of my toe to be able to extend out past my pad.

I used two knots in my to ties. That seems about right for my style..

I skate with a Tps red although he isnt a goalie guy he said the big change for this year is just the S7.

I still want the R8s.. curious to see if they change the graphic at all or something..

I agree. Would hate to buy R8's, then have another graphic or style come out.

If anybody knows, please keep us updated.

The sliding toe bridge is designed to be used without slack; the fact that it slides during rotation means the slack that is used in regular toe bridges is not necessary.

Does anyone have a review of the Summit pads, I found a couple for the gloves but just forthe trapper. I found a great deal for NHL spec pads and gloves but w ould like a little more i nfo. I've always wanted to get Vaughn but TPS seems to be similiar I think. The summit catcher is simialr to the T5500 of Vaughn right?

I posted this earlier. I will also mention that i first tried on the r8s loved them but then tried v3s and was walkin to the counter w/ um when my dad told me to try on the summits. they were just awsome. they are similar to the v3 but with a calf wrap which was what won me over w/ the summits. any other questions feel free to pm me.
