I don't know much about the Promask, but isn't the Stacey a custom mask? So your first question seems to be pretty useless.

Also, anyone who chimes in here and has not used both masks will not be able to compare them.

All you'll get is people who own Staycey/Staytrix masks telling your those are the best and Promask owners telling you those are the best.

Should be a really useful thread.

The ProMask is injection moulded and costs 856.25 US$ - 1 year guarantee -modifications not possible. The Stacey Space Tech Mach 10/H 725.00 US$ is a high aramid mask - all mods possible plus custom fitting and available in 5 stock sizes and full custom plus a 10 year guarantee.

This thread could turn out to be "interesting" Get your fingers ready mods.

Different vent shapes - round or tear-drop and different back-plates - different foams - shorter/longer chin length ???????? Couldn't find that on the website.

Get the Stacey.

You'll never regret it. I've been more than happy with mine, and I'm picky!!

I got the one you're looking at. Perfect mask....I love it.

PM me if you have any questions about it. Trust me, you won't go wrong with it.

That Stacey man really should stfu in threads like this if he wants to maintain his credibility. This regardless of the quality of his masks (I'm sure they are great).

Has anything that has been stated factually wrong?

looks like sweden has a hard on for ProMask.

but for the main topic, have you narrowed the decision down to those two? you still have; Protechsport (Full Kevlar) for $600 CDN, ProMasque for $730 USD (off the top of my head) or Warwick for $940 USD. i'm pretty sure dollar for dollar, Protechsport and Stacey are two of the top mask makers in NA and Warwick, if you want to spend a little bit more is great too. ProMasque is another company making Pro's masks (Roloson at least).

time to stop crying Sweden, your precious ProMask is still a good mask, it's just that in North America (where such goalies as Martin Brodeur, Terry Sawchuk and Patrick Roy have been produced) no one really gets a decent look at a ProMask, therefore no one really gets all excited when they are being compared. Sweden however (who brought us Tommy Salo) prolly dont get the same exposure to Itech as Canadian kids get. Seriously, has any Canadian goalie under the age of 30 never played in an Itech at some point?

Oh and if anyone has bad stuff to say about FD, think about what he said, 10 year gurantee versus 1 year gurantee..... facts are science and science doesn't lie! that fact alone blows ProMask back into the stone ages.

Do a search of the mask threads Mike the Goalie has posted on and you will find that he's going to buy SEVERAL high end masks (assuming his profile is INCORRECT = unemployed).

I was suspicious when someone who lives in the MIDDLE of mask making land chose to compare two COMPLETELY different types of construction - composite versus injection and both european made so I did what so many of you recommend - DO A SEARCH and I must have sold him a StayTrix in August last year and I-Tech sold him a 960/961 in December and I think NIX got a look in too.

Like I said at the beginning - this thread could be interesting

I have had no complaints with either of my Mach 10s. The mask fit amazing, are super light, and I have not felt I thing with them yet, playing Jr. B and C. Also Stace is a top class guy to deal with, and will definitally help and accomodate everyone.

All I'm saying is I'm getting a Mach 10 H, because of that 10 year warranty. For that kind of coin, you can't beat that. You really can't.

That and I know this fat, balding guy that makes them looks like my uncle.

I don't even wear a Promask, I don't really like them.

Imagine if Scott Battram started writing in threads explaining to people that his pads PWN TEH VAUGHNS and are cheaper. He may be correct, but it's just not good ethic.
